Analysis of a Low-Earth Orbit Satellite Downlink Considering Antenna Radiation Patterns and Space Environment in Interference Situations

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
This paper investigates a low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite downlink for high-speed data communication in interference situations. A choke ring horn type antenna is used as the data transmitting antenna with an isoflux pattern in the LEO satellite, which ...

Reconstruction of Three-Dimensional Images Based on Estimation of Spinning Target Parameters in Radar Network

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
A high-resolution three-dimensional (3D) image reconstruction method for a spinning target is proposed in this paper and the anisotropy is overcome by fusing different observation information acquired from the radar network.

Photonics Enabling Coherent MIMO Radar Networks [PDF]

open access: yes2020 22nd International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2020
The potential of coherent MIMO radar networks enabled by photonics is introduced. The first coherent dual-band $2\times 4$ MIMO radar experiment is presented. Range/cross-range maps demonstrate the higher cross-range resolution due to the coherence and the enhanced performance introduced by dual-band operation.

Advanced cognitive networked radar surveillance [PDF]

open access: yes2021 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarConf21), 2021
The concept of a traditional monostatic radar with co-located transmit and receive antennas naturally imposes performance limits that can adversely impact applications. Using a multiplicity of transmit and receive antennas and exploiting spatial diversity provides additional degrees of design freedom that can help overcome such limitations.

A Three-Dimensional Phantom Track Generation for Radar Network Deception (January 2019)

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
One important issue when multiple cooperating electronic combat air vehicles (ECAVs) are used to generate phantom radar tracks in a radar network is the position inaccuracy, which is the fundamental reasons for the difference between a phantom track and ...

Key Technologies of Hydrometeor Classification and Mosaic Algorithm for X-band Polarimetric Radar

open access: yes应用气象学报, 2021
The advantages of X-band polarimetric weather radar focus on its high spatio-temporal resolution and capability of multi-radar networking. However, the previously designed hydrometeor classification algorithm (HCA) for S-band weather radar is unsuitable ...

Citizen rain gauges improve hourly radar rainfall bias correction using a two-step Kalman filter [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2022
The low density of conventional rain gauge networks is often a limiting factor for radar rainfall bias correction. Citizen rain gauges offer a promising opportunity to collect rainfall data at a higher spatial density.
