Identifying Landslides in Atla Regio on Venus
Abstract We performed a systematic search for landslides in the Alta Regio region of Venus, located from (16°S, 179°W) to (21°N, 147°W). Using data primarily from Magellan Cycle 1 radar imagery, we identified 29 landslides in this region. There were 19 previously identified across the entire surface (Malin, 1992, https://doi.org/10.1029/92je01343 ...

Abstract Despite the relevancy of riming for precipitation formation, our observational knowledge of spatiotemporal scales of riming in clouds is poor. We use long‐term cloud radar observations to statistically investigate the horizontal and vertical dimensions as well as the typical duration of riming events. We extend a recent retrieval for rime mass

An Unbalanced Sinuous Antenna for Near-Surface Polarimetric Ground-Penetrating Radar
Sinuous antennas are capable of producing ultra-wideband radiation with polarization diversity. This capability makes the sinuous antenna an attractive candidate for UWB polarimetric radar applications. Additionally, the ability of the sinuous antenna to

Digital beam forming methods for variable polarimetric monopulse radar
In variable polarimetric monopulse radars, due to the number and types of data channels, the polarisation and angle information of the target in the receiving signals are non‐linearly coupled, which results in incorrect polarisation measurement and ...

Ocean Surface Wave Slopes and Wind‐Wave Alignment Observed in Hurricane Idalia
Abstract Drifting buoy observations in Hurricane Idalia (2023) are used to investigate the dependence of ocean surface wave mean square slope on wind, wave, and storm characteristics. Mean square slope has a primary dependence on wind speed that is linear at low‐to‐moderate wind speeds and approaches saturation at high wind speeds (> ${ >} $20 m s−1 ${\

An icon-based synoptic visualization of fully polarimetric radar data [PDF]
The visualization of fully polarimetric radar data is hindered by traditional remote sensing methodologies for displaying data due to the large number of parameters per pixel in such data, and the non-scalar nature of variables such as phase difference ...
