A 3D Imaging Method for UAV Swarm Polarimetric SAR Based on Joint Sparse and Low‐Rank Structure Constraints

open access: yesIET Image Processing, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
We designed a distributed UAV swarm SAR observation architecture that deploys multiple UAV‐borne SAR systems in the three‐dimensional space around the target scene. Each node operates in a monostatic mode, which not only reduces synchronization requirements but also provides robustness against single‐node failure.

Ground moving target indication of polarimetric interferometric synthetic aperture radar using joint scattering vector

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 18, Issue 12, Page 2681-2697, December 2024.
SAR GMTI is of great importance for both civlisation and military applications. The clutter suppression performance is an important assurance for the accuracy and precision of GMTI. To achieve better clutter suppression performance, it often requires extremely precise registration of multi‐channel data, including polarization and interferometric ...

Polarisation Synthesis Applied to 3D Polarimetric Imaging for Enhanced Buried Object Detection and Identification

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Detecting sub-surface objects poses significant challenges, partly due to attenuation of the ground medium and cluttered environments. The acquisition polarisation and antenna orientation can also yield significant variation of detection performance ...

Ocean Wind Retrieval Models for RADARSAT Constellation Mission Compact Polarimetry SAR

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
We propose two new ocean wind retrieval models for right circular-vertical (RV) and right circular-horizontal (RH) polarizations respectively from the compact-polarimetry (CP) mode of the RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM), which is scheduled to be ...

Polarimetry of light scattered by surface roughness and textured films and periodic structures in nanotechnologies: a new challenge in instrumentation and modeling

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2010
Exhaustive studies in the literature detail the Mueller matrices properties through decomposition, optical entropy and depolarization formalism. It has been applied for many years in rather different fields. In radar polarimetry, mathematical basis of

Imaging radar polarimetry from wave synthesis [PDF]

open access: yes
It was shown that it is possible to measure the complete scattering matrix of an object using data acquired on a single aircraft pass, and can combine the signals later in the data processor to generate radar images corresponding to any desired ...

Radar Image Colorization: Converting Single-Polarization to Fully Polarimetric Using Deep Neural Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Numerous radar polarimetry theories and polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) processing methods have been developed. However, the vast majority of SAR images are not fully polarimetric (full-pol).

Mapping the Upper Subsurface of MARS Using Radar Polarimetry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Future human exploration of Mars will require detailed knowledge of the surface and upper several meters of the subsurface in potential landing sites. Likewise, many of the Planetary Science Decadal Survey science goals, such as understanding the history
