Web-based interactive visualization of PS-InSAR point clouds for education and training [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2014
In radar remote sensing education and training, only few people have a good knowledge of radar remote sensing and geology, which would be necessary fully analyse the surface motions estimated by persistent scatterer interferometry.

Lidar‐Based Object Tracking of Traffic Participants with Sensor Nodes in Existing Urban Infrastructure

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This paper presents a lidar‐based sensor node design and a rule‐based state observer for edge‐based traffic participant tracking. Unlike other state‐of‐the‐art methods, this state observer enables real‐time, CPU‐only edge processing without relying on machine learning approaches.

Radar remote sensing of planetary surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesChoice Reviews Online, 2002
Radar has been recognized as a practical tool for Earth and planetary science for more than 30 years. In recent years, radar images from orbiting platforms have provided spectacular views of features as diverse as volcanoes in Guatemala, buried river channels in the Egyptian desert, and the surface of Venus.

A non-stationary stochastic ensemble generator for radar rainfall fields based on the short-space Fourier transform [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2017
In this paper we present a non-stationary stochastic generator for radar rainfall fields based on the short-space Fourier transform (SSFT). The statistical properties of rainfall fields often exhibit significant spatial heterogeneity due to ...

A Case Study on Microphysical Characteristics of Mesoscale Convective System Using Generalized DSD Parameters Retrieved from Dual-Polarimetric Radar Observations

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
The microphysical characteristics of a mesoscale convective system (MCS) during a summer monsoon of South Korea are investigated using the generalized drop size distributions (DSD) that are derived from S-band dual-polarization radar data.

Coherence‐Gated Wrapped‐Phase InSAR With Matrix‐Based Uncertainty Diagnostics for Burial‐Mound Hotspot Ranking (Sicily, Italy)

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Burial mounds are key elements of Mediterranean funerary landscapes, but in intensively cultivated coastal plains their low‐relief expression is easily obscured by ploughing, levelling and rapidly changing surface conditions, making single‐date observations unreliable.

Challenges and Opportunities in Multi‐Method Integrated Geophysical Prospection of Buried Building Remains at the Sanctuary of Olympia

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ancient Olympia was one of the most important sanctuaries and the venue for the Olympic Games in Greek and Roman times. Its remains are located in the Olympia Terrace (Peloponnese, Greece) at the present‐day confluence of the rivers Alpheios and Kladeos at the base of Mount Kronos.
