Incorporating target recognition technology into tracker radars
IET International Conference on Radar Systems (Radar 2012), 2012Technology is under development which can provide target identification capabilities for tracker radars, such as those supporting air defence weapons systems. Techniques are being developed which interleave high resolution radar modes and tracking modes, with no loss in tracking performance.

Radar target recognition based on polarization features
Proceedings of National Aerospace and Electronics Conference (NAECON'94), 2002This paper studied the various polarization characteristics of the radar target. For applying more effectively the polarization information of the target, the paper presented a new radar target recognition method of multidimensional polarization features space.

Radar target recognition based on neural network
Journal of Electronics (China), 1996The problem of radar target recognition using range profiles is investigated in this paper, based on a Radial Basis Function Network(RBFN). A preprocessing method is proposed, which performs amplitude average of the range profiles to obtain more stable patterns.

Radar target recognition based on open set YOLO
IET Conference Proceedings, 2023Automatic target recognition (ATR), both for optical and e.m. images, has been a subject of great interest since the last 20 years. The deep learning breakthrough allowed researchers to improve feature extractors by increasing their complexity and since then, traditional classifiers have been outperformed by those based on deep neural network (DNN). So

Radar HRRP target recognition with deep networks
Pattern Recognition, 2017Abstract Feature extraction is the key technique for radar automatic target recognition (RATR) based on high-resolution range profile (HRRP). Traditional feature extraction algorithms usually utilize shallow architectures, which result in the limited capability to characterize HRRP data and restrict the generalization performance for RATR.

Radar Target Recognition Based on Polarization Invariant
2018 12th International Symposium on Antennas, Propagation and EM Theory (ISAPE), 2018With the development of radar full polarization measurement technology, target recognition using polarization information has become a research hotspot. Polarization invariants can be used to characterize a target, which can directly indicate the physical property of targets.

A fractal approach to radar target recognition
Proceedings of International Radar Conference, 2002A method of radar target classification and recognition through extracting their fractal features directly from the radar echoes is presented. Firstly, two dimensional texture images with distances and directions as the coordinate axes are formed, then, the FFT-Mellin transformation is applied to eliminate the affect caused by flights' motion, posture ...

A Target Recognition Method of Multi-radar
2008 Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery, 2008A target recognition method of multi-radar is proposed based on the kinematical information from multi-radar. The process of target recognition can be divided into three levels. First, air/sea target classification can be obtained based on the information from single radar including target height, velocity, acceleration, elevation rate and azimuth rate

Chirplet-based target recognition using RADAR technology
2008 5th IEEE Sensor Array and Multichannel Signal Processing Workshop, 2008In this paper, q-chirplet based signal processing is applied to data from a low-resolution ground surveillance pulse Doppler RADAR, to classify three classes of targets: personnel, wheeled vehicles and animals. We utilize Zernike moments (ZM) over the chirplet parameters to determine the pertinent features.

Target-Aware Recurrent Attentional Network for Radar HRRP Target Recognition
Signal Processing, 2019Abstract In this paper, we develop a Target-Aware Recurrent Attentional Network (TARAN) for Radar Automatic Target Recognition (RATR) based on High-Resolution Range Profile (HRRP) to make use of the temporal dependence and find the informative areas in HRRP, since it reflects the distribution of scatterers in target along the range dimension ...
