High‐Performance and Reversible Bitter Taste Sensing Using Aptamer‐Functionalized Graphene Channel for Real‐Time Electronic Tongue

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
A graphene sensor functionalized with a DNA aptamer selectively detects quinine, a bitter compound, and recovers for repeated measurements. Combined with other taste sensors and wireless electronics, it distinguishes beverage taste profiles, demonstrating an electronic tongue with potential for beverage quality assessment.

Information theoretic waveform design with applications to adaptive‐on‐transmit radar

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation
The marginal Fisher information (MFI) metric is used to design waveforms for the sake of informationally optimal adaptive‐on‐transmit radar operation. A framework for MFI waveform design is developed and the Polyphase‐Coded FM (PCFM) waveform model is ...

Overview of Radar Jamming Waveform Design

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Radar jamming waveform design is a vital part of radar jamming. Over seven to eight decades of evolution, the field has transitioned from noise signal design to coherent jamming signal design, resulting in a multitude of complex jamming styles capable of

Monitoring and assessment for obstructive sleep apnea

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
This review systematically classifies Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) monitoring indicators into three categories: physical, biochemical, and electrophysiological indicators, and lists several methods for each category. Abstract Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common chronic sleep‐disordered breathing disease characterized by recurrent upper airway ...

Ultra‐Fast and Energy‐Efficient PZT Optical Tunable Delay Lines for Programmable Photonic Systems

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Thin‐film PZT enables optical tunable delay lines that simultaneously offer sub‐nanosecond switching, low propagation loss, and zero‐static‐power programmability. A five‐bit on‐chip delay line provides a maximum delay of 387.5 ps with a resolution of 12.5 ps, while reconfigurable MZI splitting ratios further enable non‐volatile optical arbitrary ...

Geophysical investigation at Sainte‐Marguerite‐sur‐Mer (Normandy, France): From a supposed landfill to a forgotten military network?

open access: yesNear Surface Geophysics, EarlyView.
Abstract This study focuses on characterising a strong and unexpected anomaly observed during an electromagnetic induction (EMI) survey conducted on the chalk cliff plateau at Sainte‐Marguerite‐sur‐Mer, in the Normandy region, France. The site was selected for a long‐term study of chalk cliff coastal erosion that began in 2017 and has been studied for ...

Probabilistic estimation of reliable sensor spacing for wire break detection in prestressed concrete using acoustic emission technique

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract The acoustic emission (AE) technique has proven to be an effective method for detecting individual wire breaks in prestressed concrete structures affected by stress corrosion cracking (SCC). However, despite its widespread application, the quantitative assessment of AE monitoring reliability and optimal sensor placement remains unresolved ...

Investigation of the mechanisms and modulation of irinotecan‐induced emesis in Suncus murinus

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Purpose Irinotecan is a widely used chemotherapeutic agent that frequently causes nausea and emesis. Its emetic mechanism of action is poorly understood and the choice of drugs to reduce nausea and emesis is largely empirical. Experimental Approach Using Suncus murinus, we examined (i) the dose–response and temporal profile of ...

A perspective on automated rapid eye movement sleep assessment

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 34, Issue 2, April 2025.
Summary Rapid eye movement sleep is associated with distinct changes in various biomedical signals that can be easily captured during sleep, lending themselves to automated sleep staging using machine learning systems. Here, we provide a perspective on the critical characteristics of biomedical signals associated with rapid eye movement sleep and how ...
