Arterial occlusion following radial artery cannulation

open access: yesGrande Medical Journal, 2021
A 65-year-old lady, admitted to ICU for septic shock, underwent left radial artery cannulation with 20G cannula for hemodynamic monitoring. She was on mechanical ventilation for severe community acquired pneumonia and was treated with antibiotics and vasopressors (noradrenaline and vasopressin).

Radial Artery Occlusion after Transradial Artery Cannulation [PDF]

open access: yesSoonchunhyang Medical Science, 2017
Percutaneous arterial catheterization is a widely used technique for continuous hemodynamic monitoring and arterial blood gas analysis. There are various complications such as hemorrhage, hematoma, infection, and thrombosis. We performed a catheterization procedure to confirm that the lateral circulation of the radial artery was sufficient.

Epidermal bulla: A dermatology complication of radial artery compression band

open access: yesIndian Heart Journal, 2018
Patent hemostasis technique is used with the trans radial (TR) band to prevent radial artery occlusion following diagnostic coronary angiogram or percutaneous coronary intervention using radial artery access.

A comparative assessment of Dorsal radial artery access versus classical radial artery access for percutaneous coronary angiography-a randomized control trial (DORA trial)What is knownWhat is new

open access: yesIndian Heart Journal, 2020
Objectives: This is an open-label randomized control trial with a parallel assignment with single masking comparing patients undergoing coronary angiography via dorsal radial and classical radial access. Methods: Study done at three tertiary cardiac care

Re‐Purposing Sapropterin (Kuvan) for ACTA2‐Related Multisystemic Smooth Muscle Dysfunction Syndrome: A Translational Mechanistic and First‐In‐Human Therapeutic Report

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Multisystemic smooth muscle dysfunction syndrome (MSMDS) is an ultra‐rare, ACTA2‐related disorder characterized by severe cerebrovascular disease, aortic aneurysms, and smooth muscle dysfunction. Using molecular dynamics simulations and in silico drug screening, we identified that sapropterin dihydrochloride (Kuvan) is a candidate capable of ...

Radial artery pseudoaneurysm following cardiac catheterization: A nonsurgical conservative management approach

open access: yesHeart Views, 2018
A radial artery pseudoaneurysm represents a rare, potentially catastrophic complication of arterial cannulation that has been reported after cardiac catheterization.

Biomimetic Vascular Scaffold with Seamless Electrospun Aligned Nanofiber Conduit and 3D‐Printed Coil Reinforcement

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a new fabrication method that overcomes the current limitation of tubular gap electrospinning. We successfully fabricated a seamless hollow tube with fibers aligned along the longitudinal axis in diameters as small as 300 µm, and then reinforced it using 4‐axis 3D printing.

Radial artery occlusion after transradial coronary catheterization [PDF]

open access: yesCardiovascular Diagnosis and Therapy, 2017
The transradial approach (TRA) for coronary angiography and interventions is increasingly utilized around the world. Radial artery occlusion (RAO) is the most common significant complication after transradial catheterization, with incidence varying between 1% and 10%.

Cross‐Scale Hierarchical Targeted Delivery System Based on Small‐Scale Magnetic Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article reviews a cross‐scale hierarchical targeted delivery system that integrates magnetic continuum robots and magnetic microrobots. By combining rapid long‐range navigation with precise microscale targeting, the system overcomes key limitations of single‐scale approaches.
