A randomized, prospective trial of four different cannulae used for percutaneous radial artery cannulation was carried out in one hundred and forty-eight patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass surgery. Arterial occlusion was assessed using a modified Allen's test and an ultrasonic flow monitor.
