On Comparison between Radial Basis Function and Wavelet Basis Functions Neural Networks
In this paper we study and design two feed forward neural networks. The first approach uses radial basis function network and second approach uses wavelet basis function network to approximate the mapping from the input to the output space.

A CASE STUDY ON SUPPORT VECTOR MACHINES VERSUS ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS [PDF]
The capability of artificial neural networks for pattern recognition of real world problems is well known. In recent years, the support vector machine has been advocated for its structure risk minimization leading to tolerance margins of decision ...

Applying a high electric field to a doped organic semiconductor heats up the charge carrier distribution beyond the lattice temperature, enhancing conductivity. It is shown that the associated effective temperature can be used to extract the effective localization length, which is a characteristic length scale of charge transport and provides ...

Gourd‐Inspired Design of Unit Cell with Multiple Gradients for Physiological‐Range Pressure Sensing
Gourd‐shaped micro‐dome arrays with coordinated modulus, conductivity, and geometric gradients co‐optimize sensitivity and linearity in piezoresistive tactile sensors. Under pressure, a solid upper dome embeds into a porous lower dome, triggering rapid contact‐area growth and series‐to‐parallel conduction, enabling unsaturated, intensity‐resolved ...

Randomized Modality Mixing with Patchwise RBF Networks for Robust Multimodal Pain Recognition
Pain recognition based on multimodal physiological signals remains a challenge, not only because of the limited training data, but also due to the varying responses of individuals.

We fabricated a biomimetic dendrimer‐modified thin‐film nanocomposite membrane with a coordination‐assisted ion‐selective interface. pH‐responsive polypeptide sites preferentially bind Mg2+ and promote Li+ permeation, as predicted by density functional theory calculations of metal‐ligand interactions.

Kernelized radial basis probabilistic neural network for classification of river water quality [PDF]
Radial Basis Probabilistic Neural Network (RBPNN) demonstrates broader and much more generalized capabilities which have been successfully applied to different fields. In this paper, the RBPNN is extended by calculating the Euclidean distance of each ...

Beyond the Edge: Charge‐Transfer Excitons in Organic Donor‐Acceptor Cocrystals
Complex excitonic landscapes in acene–perfluoroacene cocrystals are unveiled by polarization‐resolved optical spectroscopy and many‐body theory. This systematic study of a prototypical model system for weakly interacting donor–acceptor compounds challenges common views of charge‐transfer excitons, providing a refined conceptual framework for ...

Two isomorphic COFs were synthesized and compared, including an amphoteric COF (SQ‐TAPT) and a neutral COF (PDA‐TAPT). The ionic bonds in SQ‐TAPT introduce more Born effective charges, thereby enhancing its ionic displacement polarization. Experimental and theoretical calculations demonstrated that SQ‐TAPT exhibited higher polarity and stronger ...
