Trefftz radial basis functions (TRBF)

open access: yesComputer Assisted Methods in Engineering and Science, 2022
The TRBF's are radial functions satisfying governing equation in the domain. They can be used as interpolation functions of the field variables especially in boundary methods.

Radial basis function assisted turbo equalisation [PDF]

open access: yesVTC2000-Spring. 2000 IEEE 51st Vehicular Technology Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37026), 2002
This paper presents a turbo equalization (TEQ) scheme, which employs a radial basis function (RBF)-based equalizer instead of the conventional trellis-based equalizer of Douillard et al. (1995). Structural, computational complexity, and performance comparisons of the RBF-based and trellis-based TEQs are provided.

Two new classes of compactly supported radial basis functions for approximation of discrete and continuous data

open access: yesEngineering Reports, 2019
Radial basis functions (RBFs), first proposed for interpolation of scattered data, have gotten the scientific community interest in the past two decades, with applications ranging from interpolation with the dual reciprocity approach of the boundary ...

Radial Basis Functions Approximation Method for Time-Fractional FitzHugh–Nagumo Equation

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2023
In this paper, a numerical approach employing radial basis functions has been applied to solve time-fractional FitzHugh–Nagumo equation. Spatial approximation is achieved by combining radial basis functions with the collocation method, while temporal ...

The no-core shell model with general radial bases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Calculations in the ab initio no-core shell model (NCSM) have conventionally been carried out using the harmonic-oscillator many-body basis. However, the rapid falloff (Gaussian asymptotics) of the oscillator functions at large radius makes them poorly ...

Localized method of particular solutions using polynomial basis functions for solving two-dimensional nonlinear partial differential equations

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics, 2021
The localized method is one of the popular approaches in solving large-scale problems in science and engineering. In this paper, we implement the localized method of particular solutions using polynomial basis functions for solving various nonlinear ...

A New 3D Potential-Density Basis Set [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A set of bi-orthogonal potential-density basis functions is introduced to model the density and its associated gravitational field of three dimensional stellar systems.

Determination of an Extremal in Two-Dimensional Variational Problems Based on the RBF Collocation Method

open access: yesEntropy, 2022
This paper introduces a direct method derived from the global radial basis function (RBF) interpolation over arbitrary collocation nodes occurring in variational problems involving functionals that depend on functions of a number of independent variables.

Dynamics Model Abstraction Scheme Using Radial Basis Functions

open access: yesJournal of Control Science and Engineering, 2012
This paper presents a control model for object manipulation. Properties of objects and environmental conditions influence the motor control and learning.

Hybrid Gaussian-cubic radial basis functions for scattered data interpolation [PDF]

open access: yesComputational Geosciences, 2015
Scattered data interpolation schemes using kriging and radial basis functions (RBFs) have the advantage of being meshless and dimensional independent; however, for the datasets having insufficient observations, RBFs have the advantage over geostatistical
