Loss Allocation in Radial Distribution Systems

2023
In the structured electricity distribution networks, meaningful loss allocation methods are required so that losses can be allocated without any bias to consumers connected to the distribution system. Allocating losses to the consumers is a challenging task. The main objective is to allocate losses to the consumers only based on their consumption.

Distributed spot pricing in radial distribution systems

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1994
Spot pricing is a method for pricing electricity that maximizes the economic efficiency of the power system. The authors derive an expression for the spot prices in a radial distribution system, in terms of system quantities such as power line flows. The system's radial structure leads to simplified spot price expressions.

Contingency Assessment of Radial Distribution System

2018 IEEE 8th Power India International Conference (PIICON), 2018
The purpose of the investigation presented in this paper is to obtain the optimal restructure of radial distribution system under the impact of contingencies, with and without the scope of distributed generation. Firstly, solution to occurrence of contingency is proposed by finding out the best switching sequence of a specified number of tie lines and ...

Load Flow Analysis of Radial Distribution System

2020 International Conference on Smart Technologies in Computing, Electrical and Electronics (ICSTCEE), 2020
The radial network travels over the network without being linked to any other supply. It is used for loads such as rural areas. Load-flow studies are carried out with ETAP (14.0) software which simulates current operating conditions for the steady-state system that allows an assessment of bus voltage profiles, actual and reactive power flow and losses.

Active Loss Allocation Systems in Radial Distribution Systems

Cogeneration & Distributed Generation Journal, 2010
ABSTRACT In the restructured power system under deregulation, proper pricing of electricity has emerged as a key issue. The cost of transmission and distribution activities needs to be allocated to the users of these networks. Among others, power losses are one of the costs to be allocated.

Constraints for the interconnection of distributed generation in radial distribution systems

10th International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power. Proceedings (Cat. No.02EX630), 2004
After the recent introduction of the competitive electricity market in many countries, the number of small-size generators connected to the distribution systems is rapidly increasing. This paper analyses the impact of distributed generation (DG) on medium voltage (MV) distribution networks.
