Study on the destabilization mechanism of coal rock with cleats due to drilling fluid [PDF]

open access: yesYouqicang pingjia yu kaifa
The development of cleat fractures in coal rocks leads to reduced strength, and the influence of drilling fluids during drilling further escalates the risk of borehole instability.

Electrospun Wood‐Derived Biopolymers as Electrodes in Electrochemical Energy Storage Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrospinning transforms wood‐derived cellulose and lignin into architecturally defined, binder‐free carbon electrodes with tuneable porosity and functionality. This review shows how fibre design enables decoupled charge and mass transport, enhancing performance across battery systems, while identifying key challenges in spinnability, scalability ...

Radial Jet Drilling (RJD) Laterals in Fractured Geothermal Reservoirs [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings, 2018
Summary The effect of RDJ laterals on the productivity of a naturally fractured geothermal system has been investigated in this study. A doublet system in a reservoir of 3 × 3 × 0.1 km. with two sets of natural fractures has been the object for the study.

Embedded Ferroelectric Nanoclusters Can Drive Polarization Reversal in a Non‐Ferroelectric Polar Film via the Proximity Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric nanoclusters create local internal fields in a normally non‐switchable polar film because of polarization mismatch at their interfaces. That field opposes polarization in the regions with larger polarization and reinforces polarization in the regions with smaller polarization.

Dopant Distribution in Ga‐Implanted CdO—A Correlative Microscopy and Molecular Dynamics Study

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that ion implantation offset angle could modulate carrier concentration and mobility in cadmium oxide thin films. Combining correlative microscopy workflow and molecular dynamics simulations, this study reveals the control of interfacial cluster density with tailoring implantation angles, and the optimum offset angle that ...

Investigation of Stress Variation in Push-the-Bit Rotary Steering Bearings Under Weight on Bit and Push Forces

open access: yesCejing jishu
As the key component of the push-the-bit rotary steerable system, the accuracy and reliability of the bearing system directly affect the control accuracy and drilling efficiency of the drilling tool on the borehole trajectory.

Design and Experimental Study on Dynamic Sealing Structure of New Hydraulic Jet Radial Drilling Technology

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2021
The hydraulic jet radial drilling technology is the optimal technology for connecting fractures and vuggs in ultra-depth carbonate reservoirs of the Tahe Oilfield. The existing “nozzle + hose” hydraulic jet radial drilling technology is difficult to meet

Evaluation of temperature distribution for bone drilling considering aging factor

open access: yesMedicine in Novel Technology and Devices, 2022
Bone drilling is a routine operation in surgeries, such as neurosurgery and orthopedics. However, the excessive drilling temperature may cause severe thermal damage to the bone tissue.

Functionalizing Micro‐to‐Mesoscopic Electrode Architectures for Regulating Electron Transfer Behaviors in Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A systematic review is conducted to assess the influence of electrode architecture across micro‐ to mesoscopic length scales on electron‐transfer pathways in electrocatalysis. We discuss the structure‐activity relationships in electrocatalytic applications, including resource recovery and environmental remediation, and provide cost‐effective, efficient

A technical review of radial jet drilling [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum and Gas Engineering, 2017
Radial jet drilling (RJD) is an unconventional drilling technique that uses the jet energy of high velocity fluids to drill laterals with different geometries in both conventional and unconventional reservoirs. Many case studies available worldwide have proven RJD as a viable alternative to traditional stimulation techniques, especially in marginal ...
