Radial Flow Perfusion Enables Real-Time Profiling of Cellular Metabolism at Low Oxygen Levels with Hyperpolarized 13C NMR Spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yesMetabolites, 2021
In this study, we describe new methods for studying cancer cell metabolism with hyperpolarized 13C magnetic resonance spectroscopy (HP 13C MRS) that will enable quantitative studies at low oxygen concentrations.

Energy Performance and Radial Force of a Mixed-Flow Pump with Symmetrical and Unsymmetrical Tip Clearances

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
The energy performance and radial force of a mixed flow pump with symmetrical and unsymmetrical tip clearance are investigated in this paper. As the tip clearance increases, the pump head and efficiency both decrease.

Influence of Radial Flows on Power Density and Gas Stream Pressure Drop of Tubular Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
The development of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) for powering vehicles requires high power densities. The radial flows generated by the insert structures in SOFC fuel channels could improve the power density by facilitating the fuel to enter the porous ...

Radial Motions and Radial Gas Flows in Local Spiral Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2021
Abstract We determine radial velocities and mass flow rates in a sample of 54 local spiral galaxies by modeling high-resolution and high-sensitivity data of the atomic hydrogen emission line. We found that, although radial inflow motions seem to be slightly preferred over outflow motions, their magnitude is generally small. Most galaxies

Flow Configurations of Membraneless Microfluidic Fuel Cells: A Review

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Membraneless microfluidic fuel cells (MMFCs) are being studied extensively as an alternative to batteries and conventional membrane fuel cells because of their simple functioning and lower manufacturing cost.

COUPLING OF A UNIFORM FLOW WITH A RADIAL FLOW

open access: yesConstruction and Architecture, 2021
The authors consider the problem of conjugation of a uniform turbulent water flow and a radial flow. The solution uses a simple wave, which allowed us to obtain an analytical solution at all points of the flow. The bottom of the channel, into which the flow flows from a rectangular pipe, is assumed to be horizontal and smooth.

Effect of the gas distribution system structure of a radial flow adsorber on gas distribution

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2015
Uniform gas distribution in a radial flow adsorber plays an essential part in its performance. A 3D hydrodynamic and mathematical model of the radial flow adsorber was developed based on experimental studies.

Influence of the structure of radial flow adsorbers on oxygen production with pressure swing adsorption

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2015
A radial flow pressure swing adsorption (PSA) unit with two-tower configuration was designed for oxygen production. The influences of gas flow pattern, outer flow channel width and channel structure on oxygen production were studied by experiment.
