Radial component of vortex electric field force

Computational Problems of Electrical Engineering, 2021
he differential equations of motion of electrically charged bodies in an uneven vortex electric field at all possible range of velocities are obtained in the article. In the force interaction, in addition to the two components – the Coulomb and Lorentz forces – the third component of a hitherto unknown force is involved.

Rime density, radial forces and atmospheric electricity

Atmospheric Research, 1987
Abstract The density of rime ice accreted on a target moving through a cloud of supercooled water droplets has been measured in order to determine whether the rime density, or other characteristics, are modified by radial forces. Two similar targets in the same cloud were rotated on frames that provided the same speed but different radial ...

Lip Force Measurement—Radial Lip Seals

2020
<div class="section abstract"> <div class="htmlview paragraph">This SAE Recommended Practice defines radial lip force for shaft seals. The principle of lip force measurement is described and the types of radial force measuring devices are discussed.

Exploring Cutting Forces While Radial Shaped Turning

2021
An analysis of the features of radial shaped turning with tools with a convex radius profile, as opposed to straight-blade cutting, is given in order to develop analytical dependencies for calculating force characteristics. During radial shaped (form) turning, parameters such as thickness of cut, specific pressures, and plan approach angle are variable

Anomalous optical forces on radially anisotropic nanowires

Applied Physics A, 2015
Full-wave electromagnetic scattering theory and Maxwell stress tensor integration techniques have been established to study the optical force on the radially anisotropic nanowires. The optical forces on the isotropic nanowires are dependent on the size of the nanowire and the wave vector in the media with the Rayleigh’s law. However, the optical forces

Radial force balance within Jupiter's dayside magnetosphere

Journal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 1987
A local field stress technique, developed previously in a study of the Saturnian magnetosphere, is introduced to the problem of determining the radial force balance characteristics of Jupiter's magnetosphere. We begin by estimating the near‐equatorial, radial magnetic force densities using the data obtained by Voyager 1 principally on the dayside ...

Radial Forces in Brushless Doubly-Fed Machines

2019 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2019
This paper investigates the radial forces in brushless doubly-fed machines (BDFMs). The calculation of radial forces in traditional electric machines is reviewed first as the foundation for radial force calculation in BDFMs. The radial force patterns are presented in detail and found to be related to the pole pair combination and supply frequencies ...

Radial force in a bearingless reluctance motor

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1991
A four-pole reluctance synchronous machine with additional two-pole windings was constructed. The additional winding currents produce the radial force to act as a magnetic bearing. Expressions for the machine inductance functions are given. Inductance functions with respect to the eccentric displacement of the rotor were measured.

The Effect of Coning on Radial Forces in Misaligned Radial Face Seals

Journal of Lubrication Technology, 1980
The effect of coning on radial forces in face seals having angular misalignment is analyzed. Both the hydrostatic and hydrodynamic components of the resultant radial force are presented. It is shown that the displacement of the primary seal ring due to the action of radial forces is always in a direction which may cause inward pumping. However, in most

Prediction of the radial force in turning using feed force data

International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture, 1993
Abstract This paper addresses the problem of calculating the radial force in turning, when the feed force is known. The empirical equations presented are used to predict the chip flow direction for tools with a nose radius that may also have a cutting edge inclined to the direction of primary motion.
