Artificial Intelligence Resources for the Screening of Titles and Abstracts in Systematic Reviews: A Scoping Review

open access: yesCochrane Evidence Synthesis and Methods, Volume 4, Issue 5, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Artificial intelligence (AI) is a branch of technology enabling machines to emulate complex human skills; it can also entail problem‐solving using bioinspired methods. It is used for automating systematic literature reviews (SLR), that is, defining a clinical question, locating relevant literature, preliminary screening, study ...

The Central Entry Point for Infra‐Acetabular Screw Placement: Defining an Anatomical Entry Zone and Evaluating Its Clinical Efficacy

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 18, Issue 9, Page 1938-1947, September 2026.
This study defines the quasi‐elliptical infra‐acetabular screw entry zone, with its center located medial‐anterior to the iliopubic eminence. Utilizing this central entry point significantly improves surgical efficiency, reducing operation time and radiation exposure, while maintaining excellent fixation stability.

Three‐Dimensional Fracture Mapping of the Terrible Triad of the Elbow: Morphological Characteristics and Clinical Implications

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 18, Issue 9, Page 1981-1993, September 2026.
Mapping method for coronoid and radial head fractures. (a) 3D CT images of coronoid and radial head fractures. (b) Reconstruction of the major fragments in mimics. (c) Reconstructed fragments were reduced, translated, rotated, and standardized in 3‐matic to best match the standard model. (d) Fracture lines were traced on the standard template. ABSTRACT

Wear Rate, Particle Morphology, and Biocompatibility of Polyether‐Ether‐Ketone Femoral Heads Against Highly Cross‐Linked Polyethylene Acetabular Cups in Hip Prosthetic Couples

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, Volume 114, Issue 8, August 2026.
Graphical abstract summarizing the wear performance, particle characterization, and biocompatibility evaluation of PEEK‐on‐HCLPE hip prosthesis components using a hip wear simulator and in vitro immunological assays. ABSTRACT Biological reactions to wear particles from artificial joint prostheses can lead to osteolysis, ultimately resulting in aseptic ...

Method for Characterization of Material Loss from Modular Head-Stem Taper Surfaces of Hip Replacement Devices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Assessment of the head-stem taper junction requires the estimation of material loss from the taper surfaces of both femoral head and stem. This paper describes a method for the measurement and analysis of material loss from the modular taper junction of ...

Maximizing outcomes in the treatment of radial head fractures

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, 2019
The radial head plays a critical role in the stability of the elbow joint and its range of motion. Injuries may occur across a spectrum of severity, ranging from low energy non-displaced fractures to high energy comminuted fractures.

Morphological Analysis of the Latissimus Dorsi Tendon Insertion: Implications for Optimizing Tendon Transfer Surgeries in Rotator Cuff Repair

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, Volume 39, Issue 5, Page 572-578, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Latissimus dorsi (LD) tendon transfer is widely used to treat irreparable rotator cuff tears, particularly in cases with posterosuperior and anterosuperior tear patterns. We conducted a comprehensive anatomical analysis of the attachment of the LD tendon to the humerus, focusing on its morphological patterns and morphometric features, which ...

Computed Tomography vs Computer Modeling for Comparison and Evaluation of Anatomical Features of the Radial Head [PDF]

open access: yesTravmatologiâ i Ortopediâ Rossii
Background. The generally accepted method of treating complex radial head fractures is arthroplasty. At the present stage, there is a variety of prosthetic designs, in production of which statistically averaged morphometric parameters are used.

Surgical treatments of bone marrow lesions

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Orthopaedics, Volume 13, Issue 3, July 2026.
Abstract Bone marrow lesions (BMLs) of the knee are a common magnetic resonance imaging finding, defined as an alteration of the bone marrow detectable as a high signal on fluid‐sensitive sequences. A wide range of pathologies can present with BMLs, including traumatic lesions, osteoarthritis, subchondral insufficiency fractures and osteonecrosis ...
