An incremental algorithm for learning radial basis function networks
Proceedings of IEEE 5th International Fuzzy Systems, 2002This paper presents and evaluates an algorithm for incrementally constructing radial basis function networks, a class of neural networks which looks more suitable for adaptive control applications than the more popular backpropagation networks. The algorithm has been inspired by the CART algorithm developed by Breiman for generation regression trees ...

Radial increment WSN routing algorithm in deep mine
2017 7th IEEE International Conference on Electronics Information and Emergency Communication (ICEIEC), 2017A radial increment WSN routing algorithm(RIRA) is proposed to reduce energy consumption and improve transmission efficiency caused by complex environment and narrow tunnel of deep mine, in which the wired network layout is limited. Multi-hop routing methods between clusters can reduce energy consumption.

Regional impacts of periodical cicadas on oak radial increment
Canadian Journal of Forest Research, 2003We investigated the effects of periodical cicadas (Magicicada spp.) on growth of their hosts using records of radial tree-ring growth on oaks (Quercus spp., a common host genus) and pines (Pinus spp., a common nonhost genus) growing within the ranges of 13- and 17-year broods.

Global Optimization Method Based on Incremental Radial Basis Functions
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011Global optimization techniques have been used extensively due to their capability in handling complex engineering problems. Metamodel becomes effective method to enhance global optimization. In this paper, we propose a new global optimization method base on incremental metamodel.

Radial Basis Function Neural Network With Incremental Learning for Face Recognition
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 2011Conventional face recognition suffers from problems such as extending the classifier for newly added people and learning updated information about the existing people. The way to address these problems is to retrain the system which will require expensive computational complexity.

Characterization of Phase-Angle Jump in Radial Systems Using Incremental Voltage Phasors
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2018A methodology for characterizing the phase-angle jump associated with voltage sags in radial systems using incremental voltage quantities is presented in this paper. The incremental voltage phasor is defined as the difference between the pre-fault and the during-fault voltage phasors at the point of common coupling.

Investigation of Radial Basis Collocation Method for Incremental-Iterative Analysis
International Journal of Applied Mechanics, 2016We propose an incremental-iterative algorithm by using the strong form collocation method for solving geometric nonlinear problems. As nonlinear analyses concerning large deformation have been relied on the weak form-based methods such as the finite element methods and the reproducing kernel particle methods, the recently developed strong form ...

Incremental approach for radial basis functions mesh deformation with greedy algorithm
Journal of Computational Physics, 2017Mesh Deformation is an important element of any fluidstructure interaction simulation. In this article, a new methodology is presented for the deformation of volume meshes using incremental radial basis function (RBF) based interpolation. A greedy algorithm is used to select a small subset of the surface nodes iteratively.

Radial Increment Response of Appalachian Hardwood Species to a Spring Freeze
Journal of Forestry, 1968Abstract A spring freeze occurred after budbreak and the new foliage of several hardwood species, including American beech, yellow-poplar, cucumbertree, white ash, and northern red oak, was killed or severely injured. Radial increment was affected in some of these species but not in others.
