Analysis and Experiment of Eddy Current Loss in Radial Magnetic Bearings with Solid Rotor

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
In order to reduce power losses for the aerospace applications, this paper analyzes the eddy current losses produced by high-speed rotating solid rotor core magnetic bearings of magnetically suspended control & sensitive gyroscope (MSCSG).

From Clinic to Computation: Multiscale Bioengineering Strategies for Durable Biological Aortic Valve Replacements

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bioprosthetic aortic valves have revolutionized the treatment of aortic stenosis, but their durability is limited by structural valve deterioration (SVD). This review focuses on the pericardial tissue at the heart of these valves, examining how its mechanical properties and calcification drive fatigue and failure.

The rotation of the electric arc in a radial magnetic field [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A, Containing Papers of a Mathematical and Physical Character, 1909
Abstract The following paper contains an account of a series of measurements of the velocity of motion of an electric arc in a magnetic field at right angles to its length. The experiments are similar to those made by Prof. Wilson and Mr. G. H. Martyn with the electric discharge in a vacuum tube and were suggested by Prof. Wilson. The

Complexation‐Mediated Diffusion‐Limited Crystal Growth: A General Framework for Anisotropic Crystal Growth in Cu‐Based Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Complexation‐Mediated Diffusion‐Limited Growth (CMDLG) framework is established to rationalize the anisotropic growth of lead‐free perovskites. Integrating coordination chemistry with mass transport kinetics, this study theoretically derives and experimentally validates that stable iodocuprate complexes induce a diffusion‐limited regime.

Quark matter and quark stars in strong magnetic fields at finite temperature within the confined-isospin-density-dependent mass model

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2018
We study the properties of strange quark matter (SQM) and quark stars (QSs) in strong magnetic fields within the extended confined isospin-density-dependent mass (CIDDM) model including the temperature dependence of the equivalent mass for quarks.

Self‐Sintering Ionogel Binder for Flexible, Recyclable, and Healable Printed Giant Magnetoresistive Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electronic waste has emerged as a major environmental challenge, driven by the massive consumption and a limited lifetime of modern electronic devices, stimulating the development of sustainable electronics. Here, an all‐biomaterial gelatin‐choline‐citric acid ([Ch][CA]) ionogel is developed as an active binder to realize self‐sintered ...

Effect of crucible rotation and crystal rotation on the oxygen distribution at the solid-liquid interface during the growth of Czochralski monocrystalline silicon under superconducting horizontal magnetic field

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
This paper presents incorporating superconducting horizontal magnetic field, a very effective way with low power consumption and high field strength. To improve crystal quality of large diameter Czochralski monocrystalline silicon (CZ-Si) when it grows ...

Orbit simulations of fast-ion transport induced by externally applied 3D magnetic perturbations in the ASDEX Upgrade tokamak. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Externally applied 3D magnetic perturbations break the symmetry of the magnetic field in a tokamak and have an impact on the transport of fast-ions, i.e. suprathermal ions.

Meniscus Pixel Printing for Contact‐Lens Vision Sensing and Robotic Control

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A visual‐sensing contact lens is enabled by meniscus pixel printing (MPP), which rapidly patterns a 200 µm perovskite photodetector pixel in 1 s without masks, vacuum processing, or bulky equipment. A deep‐learning‐based super‐resolution reconstructs sparse on‐lens signals into 80 × 80 high‐resolution visual information, while AI‐driven eye‐tracking ...
