Radial nerve paralysis (high and low), comparison between tendon transfer treatment and nerve reconstruction, literature review

open access: yes
Introduction: The hand is a complex organ whose intricate function allows communication with the environment. It is essential in daily life activities, and its delicate structures are strategically innervated by three main nerves: the ulnar nerve for the

Leaf‐Inspired Eutectic Skin With Extreme Fatigue Resistance and Robust Wet Adhesion for Amphibious Epidermal Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by Acorus calamus leaves, a heterogeneous eutectic skin integrates an aligned fibrous network within a hydrophobic eutectogel matrix. This hierarchical architecture triggers strain‐induced crystallization to achieve exceptional mechanical toughness and durable wet adhesion.

Programmable Stepwise Heteroepitaxial Growth of Colloidal Crystals With Different Phases

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Stepwise heteroepitaxial growth is adapted to colloidal crystal engineering with DNA, enabling face‐centered cubic (fcc) facets to grow on body‐centered cubic (bcc) crystals with 110 facets. This approach tolerates large lattice mismatches, extending heteroepitaxy beyond the limits of conventional atomic systems.

High Center‐of‐Mass, Multi‐Legged Soft Robots Powered by Geometrically Encoded Liquid Crystal Elastomer Arc Appendages

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by the octopus and the golden wheel spider, soft robots with liquid crystal elastomer arc fibers as appendages are fabricated to transcend surface constraints through an elevated center of mass and minimal contact footprints. By leveraging curvature‐encoded deformation‐recovery cycles, these robots exhibit contractile, torsional, and flexural ...

Ti3C2Tx MXene/Silver Composite Foams For Lightweight, High‐Performance Electromagnetic Interference Shielding and Joule Heating

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Ultrathin MXene/EMF composite foams achieve a specific shielding efficiency of 749.6 dB.dB·cm3$\mathrm{dB}\cdot {\mathrm{cm}}^{3}$/g, while the silver‐enhanced MXene/Ag/EMF reaches 81.4 dB shielding effectiveness at just 1.0 mm thickness. Both composites exhibit rapid Joule heating, retain stability up to 250∘C$^\circ{\rm C}$, and withstand 1000 ...

The radial nerve should be blocked before the ulnar nerve during a brachial plexus block at the humeral canal.

open access: yes, 2004
PURPOSE: The brachial plexus block through the humeral canal as described by Dupré is indicated in hand and forearm surgery. This block requires a multi-stimulation technique that emphasizes the necessity of a rigorous and safe technique.
