Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Shear Wave Elastography to Guide Perineural Hydrodissection: Two Case Reports

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2020
Radial nerve palsy is not uncommon after humeral shaft fractures. Ultrasound-guided hydrodissection is an emerging treatment for nerve entrapment. Two cases of radial nerve injury after humeral shaft fractures with plate fixation are presented.

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.

Surgical treatment of radial nerve injuries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Introduction: The peripheral nerve injuries have an incidence of 2-3% from all traumatisms and represent a significant clinical and social problem. The anatomical emplacement of radial nerve in direct contact with humeral bone has importance because ...

Early diagnosis of neuropathy in leprosy: comparing diagnostic tests in a large prospective study (the INFIR Cohort Study) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
BackgroundLeprosy is the most frequent treatable neuromuscular disease. Yet, every year, thousands of patients develop permanent peripheral nerve damage as a result of leprosy.

Influence of Surface Finish on the Tribological Performance of AlTiBN Coatings Deposited on Forming Tools

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Aluminum and nitride coatings are used in industry because they are hard, resist wear, and protect against oxidation. Adding boron can improve friction behavior and other properties. This study tests coatings on surfaces with different finishes. Results show smoother surfaces perform better, while rough ones wear faster, although coatings can reduce ...

Origin of the radial nerve branch innervating the brachialis muscle

open access: yes, 2009
The brachialis muscle is dually innervated by the musculocutaneous nerve running via the anterior division of the brachial plexus and the radial nerve running via the posterior division of the plexus.

TENDON TRANSFERS FOR RADIAL NERVE PALSY

open access: yes, 2020
Background: High radial nerve palsy mostly caused by injury of nerve branching from proximal to the elbow resulting in function loss of wrist, finger and thumb extension, as well as thumb abduction.

Superficial radial nerve compression due to fibroma of the brachioradialis tendon sheath: A case report

open access: yesActa Orthopaedica et Traumatologica Turcica, 2019
Fibroma of the tendon sheath (FTS) is a rare benign tumour that usually develops in the upper extremity, particularly in the fingers, hands and wrists. Herein, we present the case of a patient with an unusually localised FTS compressing the superficial ...
