A Dual‐Functional Electrolyte Additive for Highly Reversible Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) as a dual‐function additive for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries. TBAB disrupts the hydrogen‐bond network of water while TBA+ adsorbs on Zn to improve interfacial wettability and regulate Zn2+ flux, resulting in suppressed dendrite growth and parasitic reactions. This synergy extended the lifespan of Zn|

Multiple satellites observation evidence: High-m Poloidal ULF waves with time-varying polarization states

open access: yesEarth and Planetary Physics, 2019
We report multi-spacecraft observations of ULF waves from Van Allen Probes (RBSP), Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS), Time History of Events and Macroscale Interactions during Substorm (THEMIS), and Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES).

Λ polarization in an exact rotating and expanding fluid dynamical model for peripheral heavy ion reactions

open access: yes, 2015
We calculate the Λ polarization in an exact analytical, rotating model based on parameters extracted from a high resolution (3+1)D particle-in-cell relativistic hydrodynamics calculation.

Enhancement of Dielectric Breakdown Strength and Recoverable Energy Density in Three‐Dimensional Heterointerfaces on BaTiO3–PbZrO3–PbTiO3 Films via Room‐Temperature Nano‐Clustering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A room‐temperature aerosol deposition process yields multiphase nano‐clustered dielectric capacitors containing discrete BaTiO3, PbZrO3, and PbTiO3 crystals. This architecture creates three‐dimensional heterointerfaces that induce interfacial charge trapping and effectively inhibit breakdown propagation.

Numerical simulation of plasma profile changes in TEXTOR by externally driven radial polarization currents

open access: yes, 2002
An improved version of the 2D multifluid code TECXY is used to simulate polarization or biassing experiments on TEXTOR tokamak. In the numerical model the condition of globally ambipolar radial transport in the transition layer is replaced by externally ...

Transparent and Robust LiCl–Organohydrogel Triboelectric Nanogenerator With Deep Learning Assisted Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Develop a LiCl–PEI–PAM hydrogel with 3000% stretchability and excellent optical transparency. Through comparative studies of various salts, confirm that LiCl is the most suitable salt for high TENG output. Achieve excellent freeze‐resistant, dry‐resistant, and rapid self‐healing (10 s) properties even in extreme environments. Balance ionic conductivity,

MicroRNA Targeting of CoREST Controls Polarization of Migrating Cortical Neurons

open access: yesCell Reports, 2014
The migration of cortical projection neurons is a multistep process characterized by dynamic cell shape remodeling. The molecular basis of these changes remains elusive, and the present work describes how microRNAs (miRNAs) control neuronal polarization ...

Ultra-short pulse laser micro-machining of metals with radial and azimuthal polarization

open access: yes, 2011
The use of a liquid crystal Spatial Light Modulator (SLM) device to convert a linearly polarized femtosecond laser beam, into a radially or azimuthally polarized beam is demonstrated.
