Common variations of the radial wrist extensors

The Journal of Hand Surgery, 1978
An anatomical study of the extensor carpi radialis longus (ECRL) and brevis (ECRB) in 173 upper limbs demonstrated abnormalities in 50%. Interconnecting tendons between the longus and brevis were found in 35% of limbs, the most common variation (26%) being a tendon arising proximally from the ECRL and inserting distally with the ECRB. In 42 limbs (24%)

Radial yield variations in semiconductor wafers

IEEE Circuits and Devices Magazine, 1987
Detailed examination of yield data from several different products in two different technologies and two different wafer sizes has shown a pronounced radial dependence. In all cases, the yield profile has a distinct knee starting at about 10 mm from the wafer periphery, dropping steeply within the final 5 mm.

Variations of the radial artery in man

Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy, 2001
Variations of the radial artery are common in man. A high origin, due either to precocious bifurcation or to persistent duplication of the brachial artery, and the presence of a superficial dorsal ramus in the forearm suggest hemodynamic insufficiency of the axial vascular network allowing persistence of certain portions of the superficial system of ...

Diurnal Variation in Vision After Radial Keratotomy

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1989
We tested eight patients who had undergone radial keratotomy with regard to refraction, keratometry, corneal thickness, and intraocular pressure one to two weeks after surgery. Patients were examined immediately after eye-lid opening at 7:30 A.M. and again at 4:00 P.M. The contralateral eye was used as a control.

Radial voidage variation in CFB risers

The Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2001
AbstractA new correlation for estimating local voidage in CFB risers is provided based on data obtained in a riser of diameter 76 mm and height 6 m using FCC particles at superficial gas velocities between 4 and 8 m/s and solids circulation fluxes up to 425 kg/m2s.

Radial porosity variations in packed beds

AIChE Journal, 1958
AbstractThe radial variation of void fraction in randomly packed beds of spheres, cylinders, Raschig rings, and Berl saddles was investigated. After packing, the beds were filled with paraffin, which was then allowed to solidify. Slabs were cut from the bed, and annular rings were removed by two different experimental techniques.

Bilateral variation in radial bone speed of sound

European Radiology, 2004
The aims of this study were to: (a) examine differences in speed of sound (SOS) between the right (SOS(R)) and left (SOS(L)) radius; (b) detect bone loss following proximal forearm fracture by SOS measurement at the radius; and (c) compare SOS(L) and bone mineral density (BMD) of one-third, mid-distal, ultra-distal and total region of the left radius ...

Corneal thickness variation during eight-incision radial keratotomy

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 1997
To determine the degree of corneal thickness variability that may be encountered during routine radial keratotomy (RK) surgery.Office refractive surgical suite. Laurel Eye Clinic, Brookville, Pennsylvania. This study statistically analyzed variability in corneal thickness measured at the optical zone in 140 consecutive eight-incision RK cases ...

Diurnal Variation of Corneal Topography After Radial Keratotomy

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1992
A computerized videokeratography system was used to evaluate diurnal changes in corneal curvature of both untreated and surgically treated eyes of 11 patients who had undergone unilateral radial keratotomy. The mean postoperative interval was 34.5 months.

Variation of Radial Elasticity in Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes

Nano Letters, 2007
Correlations between the local diameter and local radial elastic modulus in multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were investigated via ultrasonic force microscopy. Spatial cross-correlation analysis showed that local radial modulus variations were inversely correlated with local diameter gradients ("bamboo" structures) in MWNTs grown via chemical vapor
