Radial variation of functions in Dirichlet‐type spaces

Mathematika, 1997
Let \(W\) be a positive, increasing and continuous function on \([1,\infty)\) for which (1) \(\sum (W(n))^{-1} =\infty\). A function \(H\) is defined initially on \((0,\pi)\): \[ H(x)= \int_1^{\pi/x} \bigl(W(t) \bigr)^{-1} dt+ \int_1^{\pi/x} \bigl(W (t)\bigr)^{-1 /2} dt\int^\infty_{\pi/x} t^{-1} \bigl(W(t) \bigr)^{-1/2}dt, \] and then extended as an ...

Variational method for integrating radial gradient field

Optics and Lasers in Engineering, 2014
Abstract We propose a variational method for integrating information obtained from circular fringe pattern. The proposed method is a suitable choice for objects with radial symmetry. First, we analyze the information contained in the fringe pattern captured by the experimental setup and then move to formulate the problem of recovering the wavefront ...

The Radial Velocity Variation of Epsilon Cephei

Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1971
The radial velocity variation of E Cephei was measured on three nights and found to have a variable amplitude. A beat phenomenon is a likely explanation.

Radial and transverse variations of analytic functions

Journal d'Analyse Mathématique, 2000
If \(\Gamma\) is a curve given by \(w=w(t)\), \(a\leq t\leq b\), then the length of \(\Gamma\) is given by \(\int^b_a|w'(t)|dt\). If, instead of \(w'(t)\), the projection of the vector \(w'(t)\) onto the vector \(w(t)\) is used, the corresponding integral is \(\int^b_a|{\text{Re} \{\overline ww'\}\over w}|dt=\int^b_a |{d\over dt} |w||dt\) and is called

Radial variation of type-III source parameters

Solar Physics, 1992
The parameters of type-III sources have been observed to vary as powers of the distance of the source from the Sun. Here, the values of the observed exponents are reviewed and theoretical relationships between them are discussed and extended. It is shown that 11 observed exponents can be derived from a four-element subset.

Variational Theory of the Radial Distribution Function

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1955
A variational approach to the calculation of the radial distribution function is presented. The approximations consist in the neglect of fourth-order correlation in the entropy and the use of a constant third-order correlation chosen to satisfy the third-order normalization condition. The average interaction energy, containing only pair terms, does not
