Unidirectional Tape‐Based Composites from Hemp and Pineapple Leaf Fiber: Mechanical Performance in Conventional and Bio‐Based Matrices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The study investigates novel semi‐finished products made of unidirectionally arranged hemp or pineapple leaf fiber‐reinforced composites produced from different matrices. The materials are analyzed in terms of their mechanical and interfacial properties and void content.

SOAP 2.0: A TOOL TO ESTIMATE THE PHOTOMETRIC AND RADIAL VELOCITY VARIATIONS INDUCED BY STELLAR SPOTS AND PLAGES [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper presents SOAP 2.0, a new version of the Spot Oscillation And Planet (SOAP) code that estimates in a simple way the photometric and radial velocity (RV) variations induced by active regions.

High‐Entropy Alloy Design Toward Cobalt Substitution for High Hardness and Low Wear Rate Using X–Cr–Fe–Mn–Ni System

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the replacement of cobalt using the high‐entropy alloy design strategy for wear‐resistant components operating at high temperatures. Starting from the Cantor alloy, cobalt is substituted with Cu, Al, V, or Mo. Metallurgical and tribological analyses reveal that aluminum, vanadium, and molybdenum effectively strengthen the developed ...

Periodic radial velocity variations in RU Lupi

open access: yes, 2006
Context. RU Lup is a Classical T Tauri star with unusually strong emission lines, which has been interpreted as manifestations of accretion. Recently, evidence has accumulated that this star might have a variable radial velocity. Aims.

BANYAN. III. RADIAL VELOCITY, ROTATION, AND X-RAY EMISSION OF LOW-MASS STAR CANDIDATES IN NEARBY YOUNG KINEMATIC GROUPS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Based on high-resolution spectra obtained with PHOENIX at Gemini-South, CRIRES at VLT-UT1, and ESPaDOnS at the Canada–France–Hawaii Telescope, we present new measurements of the radial and projected rotational velocities of 219 low-mass stars. The target

Enhancing Fatigue Performance by Tuning of Residual Stresses in Welded Joints through Nanometallic Multilayer

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the fundamental mechanisms of a novel postweld treatment that significantly enhances fatigue performance through engineered residual stress (RS) states. A multiscale approach correlates tensile RS in the nanometallic multilayer coating with corresponding compressive RS in the steel substrate, thereby reducing localized stress ...

In‐Situ Growth of 2D MOFs as a Molecular Sieving Layer on SnS2 Nanoflakes for Realizing Ultraselective H2S Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
The ultraselective H2S detection of the ZIF‐L/SnS2 heterostructure is demonstrated. The introduction of 2‐dimensional (2D) breathable ZIF‐L results in a substantial increase in H2S selectivity attributable to the molecular sieving effect, which impedes the permeation of gases with large kinetic diameters and high polarity.
