Intercomparison of CL31 and CL51 ceilometers and impact of installation angle on cloud base height measurement agreement

open access: yesWeather, EarlyView.
Lowest‐layer cloud base height (CBH) measurements obtained between July 2018 and December 2019 from four ceilometers at the Korea Standard Meteorological Observatory were compared to determine how ceilometer installation angle differentially affects CBH measurements.

Internal physiological drivers of leaf development in trees: Understanding the relationship between non‐structural carbohydrates and leaf phenology

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, EarlyView.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Plant phenology is crucial for understanding plant growth and climate feedback. It affects canopy structure, surface albedo, and carbon and water fluxes. While the influence of environmental factors on phenology is well‐documented, the role of plant intrinsic factors ...

Carbon Farming Optimisation With Market Premiums for Biodiversity Co‐Benefits Under Climate Change Socio‐Economic Pathway Scenarios

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Achieving global climate change mitigation, biodiversity conservation and restoration goals requires innovative solutions that balance carbon sequestration with biodiversity conservation. Payments for ecosystem services markets often treat carbon sequestration and biodiversity separately, but integrating biodiversity as a co‐benefit within ...

Clearing the Air: How Fine Particulate Matter Regulations Reshape Farmland Values in U.S. Corn and Soybean Regions

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We investigate the impact of air quality regulations targeting fine particulate matter (PM2.5) on farmland values in corn and soybean producing counties in the United States over the period 1997–2022. Using self‐reported farmland value data from the Agricultural Census and county‐level pollution classifications provided by the Environmental ...
