Longwave radiation budget in the Mediterranean Sea
Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, 1995Direct measurements of infrared budget and meteorological parameters at sea were carried out in the western Mediterranean Sea during different seasons in the years 1989–1992. The spatial and time distribution of this data set allows us to perform an exhaustive test on the most widely used infrared budget bulk formulas.

Surface radiation budget in an Alpine valley
Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, 2003AbstractSurface radiation data were collected at seven sites in the Riviera Valley in southern Switzerland during the special observing period of the Mesoscale Alpine Programme's Riviera project from August until October 1999. During the daytime on selected ‘valley wind’ days, strong site contrasts occurred with respect to solar and downward long‐wave ...

Radiation Budgets in the Western Tropical Pacific
Journal of Climate, 1994The usefulness of the radiances measured by operational satellites in deriving radiation budgets is demonstrated by comparing the model calculations with the Earth Radiation Budget Experiment (ERBE) fluxes. The radiation budgets in the atmosphere and at the surface in the western tropical Pacific are computed by coupling radiative transfer models to ...

The Earth Radiation Budget Experiment (ERBE)
Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, 1984The three-satellite ERBE will be flown in the mid-1980s and will provide upgraded data on changes in the input and outflow of energy which drives climatic phenomena. The spacecraft will carry radiometers, self-calibration equipment, and be programmed with inversion and averaging algorithms. Radiation will be scanned at 0.2-5 and 5-50 microns. The ACRIM

Interannual Variability of the Global Radiation Budget
Journal of Climate, 2009Abstract Interannual variability of the global radiation budget, regions that contribute to its variability, and what limits albedo variability are investigated using Clouds and the Earth’s Radiant Energy System (CERES) data taken from March 2000 through February 2004.

Solar radiation and the energy budget of the earth
2005Abstract Table 2.1 compares the principal sources of energy available to drive the Earth’s climate system. It confirms what we would expect intuitively: that virtually all, in fact 99.97%, of the energy arrives from the Sun in the form of electromagnetic radiation.
