Considerations of the Limits of Radiation Dosage from Thorotrast
The British Journal of Radiology, 1955The use of a colloidal suspension of thorium dioxide as a radiological contrast medium dates from about 1928 (Bluhbaum, Frik and Kalkbrenner, 1928; Radt, 1930a, 1930b) and Thorotrast is the best known of such preparations. While excellent results are obtained in angiography, hepatography, arthrography, etc., and in the main no undesirable side ...

The White Cell Count in Relation to Occupational Radiation Dosage
Acta Radiologica, 1954There is general agreement that the blood count and, in particular, the white cell count, is a useful measurable index of the effect of doses of radiation to the whole body. It is customary to rely on leucocyte counts to give warning of overexposure in those who are liable to occupational radiation dosage, and hence to assess the adequacy or otherwise ...

Biological Responses to UV-B Radiation Dosages
1994The effects of UV as a wide-spread phenomenon in sensitive plants have been identified. These effects result in growth inhibition and formation of UV-absorbing phenylpropanoin and flavonoid pigments. The responses occur with-in the framework of photomorphogenesis and represent protective mechanisms against UV damage.
