Inverse sky islands: lowland river valleys drive microbial divergence while high elevations select for convergence in massive mountain ecosystems

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Mountain ecosystems are often interpreted through the lens of the ‘sky island' model, where high‐elevation habitats function as isolated archipelagos. However, this model's applicability to massive, topographically complex mountain ranges where highlands are continuous and lowlands are fragmented remains untested.

Dual‐Phase In Situ Symbiosis Structures for Ultrahigh Capacitive Energy Storage

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A dual‐phase in situ symbiosis structure designed by introducing a linear‐like pyrochlore phase (P phase) into the ferroelectric Aurivillius phase (A phase) and precisely controlling its proportion provides a new strategy for optimizing dielectric energy storage.

Unraveling the High‐Rate Electrochemical Kinetics of CuSbS2 for Sodium Storage

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This study investigates CuSbS2 as a high‐performance anode material for sodium‐ion batteries. CuSbS2 shows improved capacity retention and rate performance compared to Sb2S3. Various electrochemical techniques, including DRT from in situ EIS and GITT, confirm its enhanced reaction kinetics, underscoring the potential of bimetallic sulfides for next ...

Confined Hot Carrier Cooling Via Excited‐State Energy Gap Engineering in Graphyne Carbon Allotropes

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
The excited‐state energy gap (EEG), regulated by the concentration of sp‐hybridized carbon, provides an effective handle for tuning electron–phonon coupling behavior. This design enables long‐lived confinement of hot carriers near the top of the EEG with controllable energy levels.

Enhanced Contribution of Biexciton‐Mediated Decay Kinetics in Perovskite Nanocrystals Via Sequential Ultrafast Excitation

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Sequential ultrafast excitation is shown to increase the relative kinetic weighting of biexciton‐mediated decay in CsPbBr3 nanocrystals without increasing the total excitation fluence. By temporally structuring excitation within the exciton lifetime, the early‐time fast decay contribution becomes more pronounced while the fitted fast decay constants ...

Photothermal–Magnetocaloric Coupled Evaporators for Actively Adjustable Water Evaporation and Oil–Water Purification in Complex Environments

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A photothermal–magnetocaloric coupled aerogel evaporator is developed for actively adjustable water evaporation in complex environments. Magnetocaloric heating provides active energy compensation under low‐light conditions and disrupts interfacial hydrogen‐bond networks to promote evaporation.

Managing Crystallization in Tin‐Lead Perovskite Solar Cells via Differential Chelating Coordination

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A chelation‐mediated crystallization strategy is developed for Sn–Pb perovskites using 1,10‐phenanthroline. Stronger coordination with Sn than Pb helps reconcile their mismatched crystallization behavior, leading to improved crystalline quality, fewer defects, and reduced oxidation.

Gold Nanoparticles Supported on Poly(Phenylene Oxide) as Selective and Versatile Catalyst for Hydroamination of Arylacetylenes with Anilines

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Gold nanoparticles supported on poly(2,6‐dimethyl‐1,4‐phenylene oxide) (AuNPs‐PPO) demonstrates efficient and selective hydroamination, with performance tuned by reaction conditions and substrate design. Electron‐withdrawing substituents enhance conversion while preserving E‐imine selectivity, highlighting a key role of intermediate acidity.
