Effect of Double Annealing on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of a Medium Manganese Steel

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
A double intercritical annealing strategy is proposed to tailor the multiphase microstructure and mechanical response of a medium‐Mn steel. The treatment produces an ultrafine mixture of ferrite, martensite and multiple austenite populations with graded thermal and mechanical stability, formed through austenite reversion and controlled retransformation.

Evaporation and radiation interception by neighbouring plants

Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, 1997
AbstractThis paper presents the ERIN model, for estimating evaporation and radiation interception by neighbouring species of plants. the model contains a comparatively simple theoretical framework which couples transpiration and the interception of light in multi‐species mixtures, such as those which occur in many natural and man‐made plant communities

Radiation Interception and Productivity of Willow

The Journal of Applied Ecology, 1987
(1) Stands of Salix viminalis L. (clone Bowles hybrid), growing near Edinburgh, were studied in two successive years. In 1984, the stands grew from coppiced stumps at 0 5 m spacing in the field. In 1985, the stands grew from cuttings in containers of compost, at 0 3 m spacing, supplied with trickle irrigation and nutrients.

Intercepted radiation and radiation-use efficiency in sunflower crops grown at conventional and wide inter-row spacings: Measurements and modeled estimates of intercepted radiation

Field Crops Research, 2020
Abstract The underlying eco-physiological principle behind row spacing choice in many field crops is that early and complete ground cover will maximize yield via greater crop photosynthesis during the critical period for grain number determination in environments with no major water limitations. Recently this principle has been put in doubt: wide row-
