Interactions of Spring Cereal Genotypic Attributes and Recovery of Grain Yield After Defoliation
Dual-purpose crops are grazed during their vegetative phase and allowed to regrow to produce grain. Grazing slow-developing winter cereals (wheat, barley, and triticale) is common, but there is also potential to graze faster-developing spring cereals ...

Determining Daily Radiation Interception in a Semiarid Inter-cropping System [PDF]
Information on canopy radiation transmission is essential to understand energy balance in soil-plant-atmospherecontinuum, as net radiation is a major part of the energy balance.

Objective Youth who experience a sport‐related knee injury have elevated odds of overweight or obesity in 3‐10 years, compounding their risk for post‐traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA). To inform prevention strategies, this study compared patterns of adiposity change between youth with a sport‐related knee injury and uninjured youth in the 2‐year period ...

Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

Intercropping wheat and maize increases total radiation interception and wheat RUE but lowers maize RUE [PDF]
Row configuration has a large influence on the intensity of species interactions in intercrops. Row configuration affects how many crop rows interact with the same species and how many rows interact with the other species, shaping the expression of ...

In this work, diamonds with negative charged silicon‐vacancy (SiV−) centers have been designed for use as thermometers in biomedical applications. Multiparametric analysis of the emission characteristics of the SiV− centers provides extraordinary sensitivity for temperature detection in the physiological temperature range.

A novel light interception trait of a hybrid rice ideotype indicative of leaf to panicle ratio [PDF]
One of the major challenges facing rice breeding is to produce ideotype or ideal plant architecture (IPA) to improve canopy radiation use efficiency and hence grain yield.
