Transistorized Radiation Monitors
IRE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1958The advantages of transistors over vacuum tubes in radiation instruments have long been realized but a somewhat different approach to circuit design must be followed in developing transistor instruments, as compared with that used in vacuum tube circuits, and this seems to have discouraged many from developing such circuits.

Liquid Crystal Electromagnetic Radiation Monitor
Journal of Microwave Power, 1977Liquid Crystals having color play centered at different temperatures are arranged on metal coated and nonmetal coated dielectric substrates and used to monitor electromagnetic radiation. While both substrates respond to changes in ambient temperature conditions, the metallized substrate will also have temperature changes due to absorbed radiation.

[Radionuclide radiation monitoring].
Meditsinskaia tekhnika, 1992Radionuclide radiation monitors used nowadays can operate fairly well in measuring the parameters of the radiation type for which they are intended and calibrated. However, in many cases (particularly in emergency situations) the detector is exposed at a time to several types of radiation. Under such conditions its readings may be noticeably influenced
