Monitoring of the Radiation Belts With the Radiation Environment Monitor REM
2013The Radiation Environment Monitor has been built for the monitoring of spacecraft radiation environments. It measures fluxes of high energetic protons and electrons with some amount of energy resolution. In 1994 two of these instruments were successfully launched and provide information on the behaviour of the earth radiation belts.

A Radiation Control and Monitoring System

The radiation control unit emits a preset value of radiation and terminates the exposure.
