Overview of radiation effects on emerging non-volatile memory technologies [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Technology and Radiation Protection, 2017
In this paper we give an overview of radiation effects in emergent, non-volatile memory technologies. Investigations into radiation hardness of resistive random access memory, ferroelectric random access memory, magneto-resistive random access ...

Compositional effects on radiation tolerance of amorphous silicon oxycarbide

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Materials, 2019
Relationships between amorphous structures and radiation tolerance of silicon oxycarbide (SiOC) glasses with different composition, SiO2:SiC = 2:1 (SiO2-rich), 1:1 (equiatomic), and 1:2 (SiC-rich), were examined by transmission electron microscopy and ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Single-event upset simulation and detection in configuration memory

open access: yesFrontiers in Space Technologies
Single-event upsets (SEUs) from radiation strikes in configuration memory are potentially catastrophic due to their widespread effects. For field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), faults in configuration memory propagate into the implemented logic design

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

A Theoretical Simulation of the Radiation Responses of Si, Ge, and Si/Ge Superlattice to Low-Energy Irradiation

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2018
In this study, the low-energy radiation responses of Si, Ge, and Si/Ge superlattice are investigated by an ab initio molecular dynamics method and the origins of their different radiation behaviors are explored.

A process modification for CMOS monolithic active pixel sensors for enhanced depletion, timing performance and radiation tolerance

open access: yes, 2017
For the upgrade of its Inner Tracking System, the ALICE experiment plans to install a new tracker fully constructed with monolithic active pixel sensors implemented in a standard 180 nm CMOS imaging sensor process, with a deep pwell allowing full CMOS ...

RNA Sequencing Resolves Cryptic Pathogenic Variants in Mitochondrial Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Mitochondrial diseases are the most common inherited metabolic disorders, characterized by pronounced clinical and genetic heterogeneity that complicates molecular diagnosis. Although DNA‐based sequencing approaches have become standard in genetic testing, up to half of patients remain without a definitive diagnosis.
