Copper‐based Materials for Photo and Electrocatalytic Process: Advancing Renewable Energy and Environmental Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cu‐based catalysts as a cornerstone in advancing sustainable energy technologies are fully reviewed in this manuscript, highlighting their potential in photo‐ and electrocatalysis. It includes metallic copper, copper oxides, copper sulfides, copper halide perovskites, copper‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), and covalent organic frameworks (COFs),

Hydrodynamic Simulations of Galaxy Formation. I. Dissipation and the Maximum Mass of Galaxies

open access: yes, 1994
We describe an accurate, one-dimensional, spherically symmetric, Lagrangian hydrodynamics/gravity code, designed to study the effects of radiative cooling and photo-ionization on the formation of protogalaxies.

Enhancing CoFe Catalysts with V2CTX MXene‐Derived Materials for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

Development of a PCM-Integrated Radiant Cold-Storage System: Radiative-Cooling Film, Water Tank Design, and Outdoor Performance Validation

open access: yesEnergies
Outdoor environments typically require intensive cooling during the day, while nighttime cooling demands are comparatively modest. Conventional radiative-cooling systems deliver strong cooling at night but often underperform during daytime solar exposure.

Modeling radiation in particle clouds: On the importance of inter-particle radiation for pulverized solid fuel combustion

open access: yes, 2014
The importance of inter-particle radiation for clusters of gray and diffuse particles is investigated. The radiative cooling of each individual particle is found to vary strongly with its position in the cluster, and a mean radiative particle cooling ...

Metal Cooling in Simulations of Cosmic Structure Formation

open access: yes, 2007
The addition of metals to any gas can significantly alter its evolution by increasing the rate of radiative cooling. In star-forming environments, enhanced cooling can potentially lead to fragmentation and the formation of low-mass stars, where metal ...

Composition and Resulting Band Alignment at the TiO2/InP Heterointerface: A Fundamental Study Combining Photoemission Spectroscopy and Theory

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The chemical composition and band alignment are systematically investigated at the TiO2/InP heterointerface. Thin TiO2 films are deposited by ALD on atomically ordered, P‐terminated p‐InP(100). By combining UPS, XPS, and ab initio molecular dynamics, the atomistic structure and electronic alignment are revealed.

Daytime Radiative Cooling under Extreme Weather Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Energy & Sustainability Research
Radiative cooling, taking advantage of the coldness of the sky, has a potential to be a sustainable alternative to meet cooling needs. The performance of a radiative cooling device is fundamentally limited by the emissivity of the sky, therefore depends ...

Flux‐Regulated Crystallization of Perovskites Using Machine Learning‐Predicted Solvent Evaporation Rates for X‐Ray Detectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By integrating machine learning into flux‐regulated crystallization (FRC), accurate prediction of solvent evaporation rates in real time, improving crystallization control and reducing crystal growth variability by over threefold, is achieved. This enhances the reproducibility and quality of perovskite single crystals, leading to reproducible ...
