Variations in tropical cyclone frequency response to solar and CO2 forcing in aquaplanet simulations

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, 2017
The response of global tropical cyclone (TC) frequency to solar and carbon dioxide radiative forcing is examined in TC‐permitting aquaplanet general circulation model simulations.

Radiative forcing from aircraft NOx emissions: Mechanisms and seasonal dependence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A chemistry-climate model has been applied to study the radiative forcings generated by aircraft NOx emissions through changes in ozone and methane. Four numerical experiments, where an extra pulse of aircraft NOx was emitted into the model atmosphere ...

Decadal Attribution of Historic Temperature and Ocean Heat Content Change to Anthropogenic Emissions

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2020
We present an alternative method of calculating the historical effective radiative forcing using the observed temperature record and a kernel based on the 5th Climate Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP5) temperature response.

Influence of future air pollution mitigation strategies on total aerosol radiative forcing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We apply different aerosol and aerosol precursor emission scenarios reflecting possible future control strategies for air pollution in the ECHAM5-HAM model, and simulate the resulting effect on the Earth's radiation budget.

Assessing Satellite‐Derived Radiative Forcing From Snow Impurities Through Inverse Hydrologic Modeling

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2018
Light‐absorbing impurities in snow and ice (LAISI) lower the snow albedo and cause accelerated snowmelt. The radiative forcing caused by LAISI is in this connection the key variable in understanding LAISI‐snowpack dynamics.

ANALISIS EFEK KARBON DIOKSIDA (CO2) TERHADAP KENAIKAN TEMPERATUR DI BUKIT KOTOTABANGTAHUN 2005 – 2009

open access: yesJIF (Jurnal Ilmu Fisika), 2010
Analysis of radiative forcing of carbon dioxide (CO2) by using IPCC (Intergovermental on Panel Climate Change) method over Bukit Kototabang (Agam, West Sumatera) for period of 2005 to 2009 has been conducted.

Evaluating uncertainty in aerosol forcing of tropical precipitation shifts [PDF]

open access: yesEarth System Dynamics, 2022
An observed southward shift in tropical rainfall over land between 1950 and 1985, followed by a weaker recovery post-1985, has been attributed to anthropogenic aerosol radiative forcing and cooling of the Northern Hemisphere relative to the Southern ...

On the diagnosis of radiative feedback in the presence of unknown radiative forcing [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, 2010
The impact of time‐varying radiative forcing on the diagnosis of radiative feedback from satellite observations of the Earth is explored. Phase space plots of variations in global average temperature versus radiative flux reveal linear striations and spiral patterns in both satellite measurements and in output from coupled climate models.

Effect of aerosol radiative forcing uncertainty on projected exceedance year of a 1.5 °C global temperature rise

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2020
Anthropogenic aerosol emissions are predicted to decline sharply throughout the 21st century, in line with climate change and air quality mitigation policies, causing a near-term warming of climate that will impact our trajectory towards 1.5 °C above pre-

21st Century Scenario Forcing Increases More for CMIP6 Than CMIP5 Models

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2023
Although the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project 6 (CMIP6) protocol provides an experiment to estimate effective radiative forcing (ERF), it is only quantified for few models.
