Differential models for radiative heat transfer in scattering media: applications in aerospace engineering

open access: yesAcademia Engineering
The ordinary combination of the transport approximation for the scattering phase function with differential models for radiative and combined heat transfer in scattering media characterized by multiple scattering of thermal radiation has ...

Robust Interlayer Exciton Interplay in a Twisted van der Waals Heterotrilayer on a Broadband Bragg Reflector up to Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, we highlight a unique material platform capable of producing three distinct room temperature (RT) photoluminescence (PL) resonances from spatially separated regions composed of a heterobilayer (HBL), a homobilayer (HoBL), and an heterotrilayer (HTL) transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) heterostructures configuration on a highly ...

Decoupling Light Absorption From Photocatalytic Reactivity in TiO2 via Defect and Interfacial Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A hybrid photoprotective material integrates N‐doped TiO2 with a metal‐phenolic network (MPN) to achieve broad‐spectrum attenuation and robust reactive oxygen species (ROS) suppression. Nitrogen doping extends attenuation into the UVA/high energy visible light (HEV) regions and facilitates fast charge recombination to inhibit ROS formation.

Graphene Quantum Dot‐Induced Microstrain for Framework Stabilization of High‐Entropy Prussian Blue Analog in High‐Current Alkaline Hydrogen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The intrinsic distortion‐rich lattice of HEPBA with GQD‐enabled microstrain engineering establishes a mechanistic route toward high‐performance alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction. HEPBA inherently feature heterogeneous local coordination environments arising from multimetal incorporation, while properly introducing GQD during coprecipitation ...

Concept of surface-emitting radiation on thermal transport for boundary layer model

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
Radiative heat transfer plays a pivotal role in numerous industrial and engineering applications. While considerable research has been conducted on the influence of thermal radiation on boundary layer flow over stretching surfaces, these studies ...

Giant Electrostriction in Halide Perovskites Revisited With Double‐Modulation Interferometry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A giant electrostrictive effect in lead halide perovskites had been reported previously. This work uses sensitive interferometry to measure the electromechanical response of various halide perovskite samples. The results reveal no intrinsic electrostrictive compression. Instead, the materials expand primarily under an applied electric field as a result
