Bio‐Inspired Ordered WO3 Nano‐Helixes Enable Multi‐Band Electrochromic Smart Windows with Ultrafast Switching and Robust Cyclability

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Biomimetic ordered nano‐helix WO3 films enable multi‐band electrochromic photothermal management across the visible, near‐infrared, mid‐ and long‐wave infrared spectra, with ultrafast switching (<3 s) and robust durability (>10 000 cycles). These findings establish new paradigms for next‐generation photothermal management systems and energy‐efficient ...

No Charging but Protection: Lifetime Prolongation of Spontaneously‐polarized Electrets for Energy Harvesting Applications

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A bilayer protection approach is proposed for slowing down the surface potential decay of thin films of spontaneously‐polarized electret materials. The electret and the protective films are characterized, and the protection effectiveness is investigated under the effects of light illumination, water contact and mechanical impact.

Micropatterned Scintillator Films With Engineered Cs3Cu2I5/CsCu2I3 Nanocrystals for Low‐Crosstalk X‐Ray Imaging at Clinically Relevant Tube Voltage

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Polyethylene glycol‐coated, lead‐free CsCu2I3 nanocrystal scintillator films achieve superior X‐ray imaging resolution over unpatterned films at 80 kVp by reducing crosstalk through lithographic micropatterning and optimized thickness control. The spatial resolution of X‐ray imaging is often limited by radioluminescence scattering, which is exacerbated

Performance Monitoring of Photovoltaic Modules Using Machine‐Learning‐Based Solutions: A Survey of Current Trends

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract presents the concept of applying machine‐learning algorithms to assess the performance of photovoltaic modules. Data from solar panels are fed to surrogates of intelligent models, to assess the following performance metrics: identifying faults, quantifying energy production and trend degradation over time. The combination of data
