Fluctuations in Radiative Processes

Physica Scripta, 1986
The purpose of these two lectures is to present a brief review of theoretical works done at Ecole Normale Superieure in collaboration with Jean Dalibard, Jacques Dupont-Roc and Claude Fabre. The motivation of these works is to try to understand the dynamics of an atomic system coupled to the radiation field and to get some physical insight in radiative

Radiative processes: Potentials or Fields?

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2010
In this work we prove that the transition amplitudes of processes involving the emission of one or more real photons is gauge invariant through terms that are always proportional to the electromagnetic field tensor.

Radiative and non-radiative processes in p-benzoquinone vapour

Molecular Physics, 1985
Emission and excitation spectra of p-benzoquinone vapour have been measured at the pressure range from 0·2 to 3 Torr as well as at high total pressure (∼ 100 Torr) in the presence of an added foreign gas. It is shown that p-benzoquinone vapour excited into 1 B 3g (π, π*) exhibits fluorescence from high vibrational levels in the 1 B 1g (n, π*) state in ...

Zitterbewegung in Radiative Processes

1991
The zitterbewegung is a local circulatory motion of the electron presumed to be the basis of the electron spin and magnetic moment. A reformulation of the Dirac theory shows that this interpretation can be sustained rigorously, with the complex phase factor in the wave function describing the local frequency and phase of the circulatory motion directly.

Anodization-Processed Colored Radiative Thermoregulatory Film

Nano Letters
Colored radiative thermal management materials (RTMM) not only provide superior thermoregulatory performance but also satisfy aesthetic requirements. However, the complexity of the preparation procedures and constrained color selection have hindered their widespread adoption.

Radiative Processes in Plasmas

2009
All plasmas emit and absorb electromagnetic radiation and Fig. 6.1 shows, as an example, the characteristics of the emission spectrum of a dense laboratory hydrogen plasma with some impurities at the electron temperature of k B T e = 10 eV. The dashed line is the blackbody limit drawn for comparison.
