Alternatives to radical behaviorism
Behavioral and Brain Sciences, 1995AbstractOperant psychologists are looking for alternatives to radical behaviorism. Rachlin offers teleological behaviorism, but it may pose as many difficulties as radical behaviorism. There is, however, a less drastic way to defend Rachlin's thesis of “order in the relationship between organisms and environment.” It portrays operant principles as ...

Radical polymerization behavior of trimethoxyvinylsilane
Journal of Polymer Science Part A: Polymer Chemistry, 2005AbstractTrimethoxyvinylsilane (TMVS) was quantitatively polymerized at 130 °C in bulk, using dicumyl peroxide (DCPO) as initiator. The polymerization of TMVS with DCPO was kinetically studied in dioxane by Fourier transform near‐infrared spectroscopy. The overall activation energy of the bulk polymerization was estimated to be 112 kJ/mol.

Behavior-Behavior Analysis, Human Schedule Performance, and Radical Behaviorism
The Psychological Record, 1989Behavior-behavior analyses are concerned mainly with the prediction of behavior and are thereby insufficient for a complete functional analysis of environment-behavior interaction. Nevertheless, behavior-behavior analyses can remain within the conceptual framework of radical behaviorist epistemology if they are treated as a preliminary strategy for the

1994
Willard Day (1987) writes that the earliest published use of the term radical behaviorism by Skinner appeared in the “Rejoinders and Second Thoughts” section of his 1945 paper, “The Operational Analysis of Psychological Terms.”

I still like my own definition of ‘radical behaviorism’ better than any other I have seen yet: ‘radical behaviorism is the effect that Skinner’s thought happens to have on the behavior of people’ (Day, 1983, p. 101). What I really like about this definition is that it is behavioral: in essence it is a general, or shorthand, description of a particular ...

Radical Behaviorism and Consciousness
1989Readers interested in a psychology of consciousness might express disbelief at the suggestion that a leading behaviorist, B. F. Skinner, includes in his proper realm of inquiry feelings, thoughts, images, and consciousness. True, he does not consider these to be explanatory concepts, but rather legitimate events worthy of investigation.

Radical polymerization behavior of hydroxystyrenes
Journal of Polymer Science Part A-1: Polymer Chemistry, 1969AbstractHomopolymerizations of m‐ and p‐hydroxystyrene and their copolymerizations with styrene and methyl methacrylate by use of azobisisobutyronitrile as initiator were investigated, and the results were compared with those obtained previously o‐hydroxystyrene.

A Commentary on “Radical Behaviorism”
Philosophy of Science, 1963B. F. Skinner is perhaps even more widely known for his views on science than for his experimental work. His comments on the role of theory in science have been labeled “anti-theoretical,” “ultra-empirical”, “non-theoretical,” “radical,” and worse. His position appears to be both extreme and untenable.

Arabic Students' Understanding of Skinner's Radical Behaviorism
Psychological Reports, 1992Many American investigations have demonstrated that Skinner's radical behaviorism is misunderstood at home; the present work indicated it is misunderstood abroad as well. 157 third- and fourth-year undergraduate students in psychology at the University of Jordan completed a 32-item questionnaire requiring yes/no answers developed to measure knowledge ...
