Controlled Radical Polymerization toward Ultra-High Molecular Weight by Rationally Designed Borane Radical Initiators

open access: yesCell Reports Physical Science, 2020
Summary: Ultra-high-molecular-weight (UHMW) polymers can display outstanding properties; however, it is challenging to synthesize UHMW polymers by using external free radical initiators.

Synthesis of Hydrophobically and Electrostatically Modified Polyacrylamides and Their Catalytic Effects on the Unimolecular Decarboxylation of 6-Nitrobenzisoxazole-3-carboxylate Anion [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
A series of hydrophobically and electrostatically modified polyacrylamides (Copol(AM-C12)) has been synthesized by radical-initiated copolymerization of acrylamide with n-dodecylmethyldiallylammonium bromide as the hydrophobe in aqueous solution using ...

Molecular imaging predicts trastuzumab‐deruxtecan (T‐DXd) response in head and neck cancer xenograft models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Trastuzumab‐deruxtecan, a HER2‐targeting antibody‐drug conjugate, shows promising antitumor activity in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma with low HER2 expression. In vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated dose‐dependent cell death and tumor growth reduction in low HER2‐expressing cell lines, which correlated with drug accumulation measured using a

Use of Cyclic Di- and Triperoxides as Initiators of Styrene Polymerization at High Temperature with a View to Their Use in Industrial Applications

open access: yesMolecules, 2000
In industry, the bulk free radical polymerization of styrene takes place with the aid of peroxide initiators such as benzoyl peroxide. In this work di- and trimeric cyclic peroxides were used as initiators of the styrene polymerization in order to ...

Enhanced dispersibility of graphitic carbon nitride particles in aqueous and organic media via a one-pot grafting approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A facile route to synthesize hydrophilically or hydrophobically grafted graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN) is reported. For this purpose, functionalized olefinic molecules with a low polymerization tendency are utilized for grafting onto the surface to ...

Tumor clusters with divergent inflammation and human retroelement expression determine the clinical outcome of patients with serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Analysis of treatment‐naïve high‐grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) and control tissues for ERVs, LINE‐1 (L1), inflammation, and immune checkpoints identified five clusters with diverse patient recurrence‐free survivals. An inflammation score was calculated and correlated with retroelement expression, where one novel cluster (Triple‐I) with high ...

A DIA‐MS‐based proteomics approach to find potential serum prognostic biomarkers in glioblastoma patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A DIA‐MS‐based proteomics analysis of serum samples from GB patients and healthy controls showed that high levels of IL1R2 and low levels of CRTAC1 and HRG in serum are associated with poor survival outcomes for GB patients. These circulating proteins could serve as biomarkers for the prediction of outcome in patients with GB.

Radical and ion molecule mechanisms in the polymerization of hydrocarbons and chlorosilanes in RF plasmas at low pressures ( 1.0 torr) [PDF]

open access: yes
The ion-molecule and the radical-molecule mechanisms are responsible for the dissociation of hydrocarbons, and chlorosilane monomers and the formation of polymerized species, respectively, in the plasma state of a RF discharge.

Chemical approach for controlling nadimide cure temperature and rate with maleimide [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
Polyimide resins suitable for use as composite matrix materials are formed by copolymerization of maleic and norbornenyl endcapped monomers and oligomers.
