Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...

Novel Carbazole Skeleton-Based Photoinitiators for LED Polymerization and LED Projector 3D Printing
Radical chemistry is a very convenient way to produce polymer materials. Here, an application of a particular photoinduced radical chemistry is illustrated. Seven new carbazole derivatives Cd1–Cd7 are incorporated and proposed as high performance near-UV

In-situ syntheses of graft copolymers by metal-free strategies: combination of photoATRP and ROP
A completely metal-free and environmentally friendly strategy is demonstrated for the preparation of graft copolymers by combining photoinduced Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ATRP) and Ring Opening Polymerization (ROP).

A general model for analysis of linear and hyperbolic enzyme inhibition mechanisms
We developed a general enzyme kinetic model that integrates these six basic inhibition mechanism onto a single one. From this model, we deduced a general enzyme kinetic equation that through modulation of simple parameters, γ (the relative inhibitor affinity for two binding sites) and β (the reactivity of the enzyme–substrate–inhibitor complex), is ...

A multiswitchable poly(terthiophene) bearing a spiropyran functionality: understanding photo and electrochemical control [PDF]
An electroactive nitrospiropyran-substituted polyterthiophene, 2-(3,3′′-dimethylindoline-6′-nitrobenzospiropyranyl)ethyl 4,4′′-didecyloxy-2,2′:5′,2′′-terthiophene-3′-acetate, has been synthesized for the first time.

KHS‐Cnd peptide is able to impair biofilm formation and disaggregate mature biofilms in Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolates. Differences in extracellular metabolites reflect changes in biofilm metabolism due to KHS‐Cnd treatment. Among the differentially represented extracellular metabolites upon KHS‐Cnd treatment, the significantly altered ...

Pathogenic Neurofibromatosis type 1 gene variants in tumors of non‐NF1 patients and role of R1276
Somatic variants of the neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene occur across neoplasms without clinical manifestation of the disease NF1. We identified emerging somatic pathogenic NF1 variants and hotspots, for example, at the arginine finger 1276. Those missense variants provide fundamental information about neurofibromin's role in cancer.
