Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Radio frequency identification tagging

open access: yesInternational Journal of Retail & Distribution Management, 2007
PurposeThe principal rationale for this study is to investigate the implications of the introduction of radio frequency identification (RFID) tagging on suppliers. Emphasis concerns the impact it is likely to have on suppliers to the UK grocery retail market.Design/methodology/approachPrimary research focuses on UK grocery suppliers' perception, with ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.
