Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Coastal Ship Tracking with Memory-Guided Perceptual Network

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
Coastal ship tracking is used in many applications, such as autonomous navigation, maritime rescue, and environmental monitoring. Many general object-tracking methods based on deep learning have been explored for ship tracking, but they often fail to ...

A Mission to Test the Pioneer Anomaly

open access: yes, 2002
Analysis of the radio tracking data from the Pioneer 10/11 spacecraft has consistently indicated the presence of an anomalous small Doppler frequency drift. The drift can be interpreted as being due to a constant acceleration of a_P= (8.74 +/- 1.33) x 10^

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Reinforcement Learning-Driven Framework for High-Precision Target Tracking in Radio Astronomy

open access: yesGalaxies
Radio astronomy requires precise target localization and tracking to ensure accurate observations. Conventional regulation methodologies, encompassing PID controllers, frequently encounter difficulties due to orientation inaccuracies precipitated by ...

Efficacité d'un exutoire de dévalaison et d'une barrière acoustique pour les smolts de saumon atlantique (Salmo salar L.) à l'aménagement hydroélectrique de St. Cricq sur le gave d'Ossau.

open access: yesKnowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems, 1999

Diurnal roosts and minimum home range defined by sleeping sites of a thin-spined porcupine Chaetomys subspinosus (Rodentia: Erethizontidae)

open access: yesZoologia (Curitiba), 2010
The thin-spined porcupine Chaetomys subspinosus (Olfers, 1818) is a species endemic to the extremely disturbed and fragmented Brazilian Atlantic forest. Little is known about its natural history. We analyzed the preferences of porcupine diurnal roost and

Radio-Tracking Timber Wolves in Ontario [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Zoologist, 1967
Miniature collar-type transmitters originally designed by W. W. Cochran , Illinois, were adapted for use on timber wolves ( Canis lupus sp. ) in east-central Ontario. Wild timber wolves were captured in steel traps, restrained with a forked stick, fitted with radio-collars and released at point of capture.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

An Experimental Multi-Target Tracking of AM Radio-Based Passive Bistatic Radar System via Multi-Static Doppler Shifts

open access: yesSensors, 2021
This paper presents a description of recent research and the multi-target tracking in experimental passive bistatic radar (PBR) system taking advantage of numerous non-cooperative AM radio signals via multi-static doppler shifts.
