RADIO ASTROMETRY OF THE CLOSE ACTIVE BINARY HR 5110 [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2015
The close active binary HR 5110 was observed at six epochs over 26 days using a global VLBI array at 15.4~GHz. We used phase-referencing to determine the position of the radio centroid at each epoch with an uncertainty significantly smaller than the component separation.

First Observations With a GNSS Antenna to Radio Telescope Interferometer

open access: yesRadio Science, Volume 58, Issue 8, August 2023., 2023
Abstract We describe the design of a radio interferometer composed of a Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) antenna and a Very Long Baseline Interferometry radio telescope. Our eventual goal is to use this interferometer for geodetic applications including local tie measurements.

The Use of the Ratan-600 Radio Telescope in Astrometry [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1986
The RATAN-600 radio telescope (Kaidanovsky & al. 1972) was designed for solving various problems of astrophysics and radiophysics (Pariisky & al. 1972, Gelfreikh & al. 1972). Because of its high resolving power and large collecting area, this instrument can be used to measure accurate positions of radio sources.

Autonomous control of a prototype solar‐powered offshore autonomous underwater vehicle servicing platform via a low‐cost embedded architecture

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, Volume 40, Issue 4, Page 828-847, June 2023., 2023
Abstract This paper describes the design, implementation, and field‐testing of a low‐cost autonomous control system on the Platform for Expanding Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) exploRation to Longer ranges (PEARL). PEARL is a floating, solar‐powered platform designed as a servicing station for AUVs.

Photographic astrometry of radio stars [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1991
Photographic astrometry of four radio stars has been carried out in a test program using the Wide Field Camera at the f/8 focus of the Jacobus Kapteyn Telescope (JKT). The accuracy of the positions is 0.04 arcsec. Comparisons are made with positions obtained by the Carlsberg and Bordeaux automatic meridian circles and with the radio positions measured ...

Optical and radio astrometry of the galaxy associated with FRB 150418 [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society: Letters, 2016
Abstract A fading radio source, coincident in time and position with the fast radio burst FRB 150418, has been associated with the galaxy WISE J071634.59−190039.2. Subsequent observations of this galaxy have revealed that it contains a persistent, but variable, radio source. We present e-Multi-Element Radio Linked Interferometer Network,

Radio and Optical Astrometry [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1974
Radio positional measurements have achieved an accuracy as high as that of optical astrometry, with uncertainties no greater than a few hundredths of an arc second in each coordinate. Declinations and relative right ascensions are determined absolutely.

Overview and Status of the International Celestial Reference Frame as Realized by VLBI

open access: yesUniverse, 2022
Accurate measurement of angular positions on the sky requires a well-defined system of reference that is realized with accessible objects. The purpose of this study is to review the international standard realization of such a system, the International ...

Optical astrometry of Benchmark radio sources [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy and Astrophysics Supplement Series, 1997
Optical positions relative to the International Reference Stars Catalogue (IRS), and therefore in the sys- tem of the FK5, have been obtained for the optical coun- terparts of 40 compact extragalactic radio sources south of +6. Many of these sources are being consid- ered as possible Benchmark objects for the establishment of a quasi inertial unied ...

Masses and Densities of Dwarf Planet Satellites Measured with ALMA

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal, 2023
We have used the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array to measure precise absolute astrometric positions and detect the astrometric wobble of dwarf planet Orcus and its satellite Vanth over a complete orbit.
