Revisiting the Gas Dynamics of Henize 2–10: Possible Drivers of the Starburst

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The triggers of starburst episodes are a key component to our understanding of the baryon cycle in galaxies. Galaxy mergers are a commonly suggested catalyst for starbursts, but once the galaxies coalesce into a single kinematically disturbed system ...

Demonstration of a Low-SWaP Terminal for Ground-to-Air Single-Mode Fiber Coupled Laser Links

open access: yesPhotonics
Free space optical technology promises to revolutionize point-to-point communications systems. By taking advantage of their vastly higher frequencies, coherent optical systems outperform their radio counterparts by orders of magnitude in achievable data ...

Enriched Oxygen Vacancy‐Mediated Efficient Charge Transfer in S‐Scheme ZnO‐VO@Zn0.5Cd0.5S Heterojunction for Rapid U(VI) Removal From Nuclear Wastewater

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An S‐scheme ZnO‐VO@Zn0.5Cd0.5S heterojunction with oxygen vacancies (VO) was developed for rapidly removing U(VI) from nuclear wastewater. The results show that the synergy between S‐scheme transfer and VO enhances the catalyst’s U(VI) removal kinetics. It achieves 99.10% removal in 10 minutes without any sacrificial agents.

MeerKAT 1.3 GHz Observations of Supernova Remnants

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
We present full Stokes MeerKAT L -band (856–1712 MHz) observations of 36 high-latitude supernova remnants (SNRs). Sensitive, high-dynamic-range images show a wealth of structure. G15.1−1.6 appears to be a H ii region rather than an SNR.

Sensitive Sub‐THz Photodetection in Twisted Graphene with Broad Spectral Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐gated twisted monolayer–bilayer graphene (TMBG) phototransistor enables ultrabroadband detection spanning visible to sub‐THz regimes. Gate‐tunable moiré bands produce photothermoelectric responses at zero bias and bolometric responses under applied bias.

Layer‐By‐Layer Approach to Improve the Capacitance of Conducting Polymer Films

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
This work describes the synthesis and characterization of a composite material based on poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) and poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxypyrrole) (PEDOP) deposited in a layer‐by‐layer approach. Due to the developed electroactive area coming from the presence of 3D nanostructures, PEDOT/PEDOP demonstrates superior areal capacitance ...

Vertical Phase Separation in Blended Organic Semiconducting Films and Impact on Their Electrical and Direct X‐Ray Detection Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The composition of blends of 1,4,8,11‐tetramethyl‐6,13‐triethylsilylethynyl pentacene (TMTES) and polystyrene (PS) to be used in Organic Field‐Effect Transistors (OFETs) is optimized to achieve and enhance thin film crystallinity and a reduced charge trap density at the semiconductor/dielectric interface.

DSP-Enabled Radio Astronomy: Towards IIIZW35 Reconquest

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2005
In radio astronomy, the radio spectrum is used to detect weak emission from celestial sources. By spectral averaging, observation noise is reduced and weak sources can be detected.
