Radio continuum emission in ring galaxies
Radio emission was found in two (Arp 118 and Arp 148) of 27 ring-type galaxies searched with the NRAO interferometer to a detection limit of about 10 mJy at 11.1 cm. These two were also observed at 6 cm with the higher sensitivity and resolution of the VLA.

The global star formation law of galaxies revisited in the radio continuum [PDF]
We study the global star formation law - the relation between the gas and star formation rate (SFR) in a sample of 130 local galaxies with infrared (IR) luminosities spanning over three orders of magnitude (10^9-10^12 Lsun), which includes 91 normal spiral galaxies and 39 (ultra)luminous IR galaxies [(U)LIRGs].

A real‐time, non‐contact photoplethysmography (PPG) system based on InAs colloidal quantum dots (CQDs) synthesized via a seedless injection synthesis is demonstrated. The measured oxygen saturation shows considerable agreement with commercial PPG devices.

Radio continuum polarimetric imaging of high redshift radio galaxies
Multifrequency images of total and polarized radio continuum emission from the two high redshift radio galaxies 0902+343 (z = 3.40) and 0647+415 (4C 41.17, z = 3.80) are presented. These images represent the most sensitive polarimetric study of high redshift ratio galaxies to date.

Jet Directions in Seyfert Galaxies: Radio Continuum Imaging Data [PDF]
We present the results of VLA A-array 8.46 GHz continuum imaging of 55 Seyfert galaxies (19 Seyfert 1's and 36 Seyfert 2's). These galaxies are part of a larger sample of 88 Seyfert galaxies, selected from mostly isotropic properties, the flux at 60 mum and warm infrared 25 mum to 60 mum colors. These images are used to study the structure of the radio

ABSTRACT The multifunctional integration of chips with high flexibility and scalable manufacturing is crucial for enhancing chip performance, reducing chip size, and simplifying chip design. However, balancing volume, cost, flexibility, and functionality using traditional heterogeneous integration methods is challenging.

Hidden No More: Spotlight on Tidal Disruption Events in Active Galactic Nuclei
ABSTRACT Tidal disruption events (TDEs) are typically discovered in previously quiescent galaxies. However, earlier studies have revealed a handful of TDEs occurring in pre‐existing active galactic nuclei (AGN). We discuss AT2019aalc, a promising TDE candidate in an AGN, and compare it to similar sources.

Germanium‐Based Mid‐Infrared Integrated Photonics
The mid‐infrared (mid‐IR) spectral range is a part of the electromagnetic spectrum in which most of the molecules have vibrational and rotational resonances. Photonics integration in this wavelength range have thus seen a burst of interest in the recent years, mainly driven by applications related with the detection of chemical and biological ...

A Context‐Aware Decision Support Framework for Scientific Experiment Configuration
ABSTRACT Introduction Defining an experimental configuration is a complex decision problem for early‐stage researchers, who must map goals, constraints, and requirements onto datasets, algorithms, and parameter settings that directly affect experimental outcomes.

Roe deer is a species that hides their neonates as an anti‐predator strategy. This may prove efficient against mammalian predators, such as the red fox; however, it might be an ecological trap as large numbers of fawns are killed by tractors with harvesters each year during grass harvest.
