The infrared and radio-continuum emission of the galactic disk

In 1983 the Infrared Astronomical Satellite (IRAS) surveyed the sky in four wavebands in the far infrared (FIR). One of the products of this survey1 is a detailed picture with an angular resolution of ∼4 arc min of the infrared emission of the interstellar dust in the galactic plane.

Observations of the Solar Continuum Radio Emission at Decameter Wavelengths

Results of study of the continuum radio emission of the Sun in the decameter range are presented. Observations were carried out with radio telescope URAN‐2 in summer months in 2008–2009. Radio fluxes at frequencies 20 MHz and 25 MHz in frequency band 250 kHz were obtained during the time, when there were no active regions on the solar disk.

Properties of the Radio Continuum Emission from Interacting Galaxies

SEVERAL interacting galaxies have been observed recently in different programmes using the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope at 21 cm wavelength (beamwidth 24 s × 24 s cosec δ). We give here a compilation of the data in order to examine the morphology, strength, and the frequency of occurrence of the radio emission from these interacting systems.

Continuum radio emission from Virgo galaxies

The paper presents single-antenna measurements of radio emission from 120 galaxies in the Virgo cluster at 2380 MHz using a 2.6 arc min beam (half-power beam width). It also presents interferometric measurements at the same frequency for 48 galaxies with less than or equal to 1 arc sec resolution.
