Models of Uranian continuum radio emission

Journal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 1987
The Uranian kilometric emissions detected by the Voyager 2 Planetary Radio Astronomy (PRA) experiment during the January 1986 encounter comprise two distinct types of emission: bursts and continuum. The bursts have been treated by Evans et al. (this issue). This paper considers the continuum emissions. The continuum emissions comprised four components:

Continuum radio emission from Virgo galaxies

Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1988
The paper presents single-antenna measurements of radio emission from 120 galaxies in the Virgo cluster at 2380 MHz using a 2.6 arc min beam (half-power beam width). It also presents interferometric measurements at the same frequency for 48 galaxies with less than or equal to 1 arc sec resolution.

Continuum Radio Emission and Galactic Structure

Symposium - International Astronomical Union, 1974
Recent studies of high latitude brightness have shown that in several regions a significant proportion of it is due to loop features. The largest of these are now thought to be local (within a few hundred parsecs) and perhaps to be due to supernova events.Aperture synthesis maps of 45 external spiral galaxies have shown large-scale continuum nonthermal

Radio Continuum Emission from Sculptor Galaxies

Publications of the Astronomical Society of Australia, 1986
AbstractThe five major members of the Sculptor Group of galaxies and NGC 45 have been observed with the Molonglo observatory synthesis telescope. NGC 247 and NGC 300 were not detected and upper limits to their 843 MHz flux densities are given. Radio emission from NGC 7793 is discussed with particular attention to its morphology, radial dependence ...

Radio Continuum Emission at 21 cm near Stephan's Quintet

Nature, 1972
AN area about one degree square centred at α = 22 h 33.80 m, δ = 33° 41.0′ (1950) near Stephan's Quintet of galaxies has been observed with the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope at 21.2 cm. The measurements consist of 12 h registrations at 40 interferometer spacings from 36 to 1,440 m in intervals of 36 m.

The ultraviolet continuum emission of radio galaxies

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1997
This poster presents the UV continuum emission (in the range from 1400 to 3700 A) of radio galaxies (with redshift ranging from 0.01 to 0.1 and radio powers ranging from 1025 to 1027 Watts/Hz). The sample of radio galaxies were compiled by searching the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) archives for images taken with the Faint Object Camera (FOC) prior to ...
