The infrared and radio-continuum emission of the galactic disk
Nature, 1987In 1983 the Infrared Astronomical Satellite (IRAS) surveyed the sky in four wavebands in the far infrared (FIR). One of the products of this survey1 is a detailed picture with an angular resolution of ∼4 arc min of the infrared emission of the interstellar dust in the galactic plane.

Continuum radio emission from Virgo galaxies
Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1988The paper presents single-antenna measurements of radio emission from 120 galaxies in the Virgo cluster at 2380 MHz using a 2.6 arc min beam (half-power beam width). It also presents interferometric measurements at the same frequency for 48 galaxies with less than or equal to 1 arc sec resolution.

The radio continuum emission from the Galaxy
Symposium - International Astronomical Union, 1964Study of the radio continuum emission from the Galaxy is of interest both from the viewpoint of the physics of the radiating processes and the light which these shed on physical conditions within the Galaxy, and also because the large-scale organization of the emitting regions gives information about the structure of the Galaxy as a whole.

Observations of the Solar Continuum Radio Emission at Decameter Wavelengths
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2010Results of study of the continuum radio emission of the Sun in the decameter range are presented. Observations were carried out with radio telescope URAN‐2 in summer months in 2008–2009. Radio fluxes at frequencies 20 MHz and 25 MHz in frequency band 250 kHz were obtained during the time, when there were no active regions on the solar disk.

Continuum Radio Emission and Galactic Structure
Symposium - International Astronomical Union, 1974Recent studies of high latitude brightness have shown that in several regions a significant proportion of it is due to loop features. The largest of these are now thought to be local (within a few hundred parsecs) and perhaps to be due to supernova events.Aperture synthesis maps of 45 external spiral galaxies have shown large-scale continuum nonthermal

Radio Continuum Emission by Spiral Arms
Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1960Fig. 1. The spiral pattern of the Galaxy according to B. Y. Mills ; it is defined by the observed steps in the distribution of radio brightness with longitude (see Figure 2). Directions of well-defined steps are indicated by the lines of sight radiating from the sun; less pronounced ones are shown as dashed lines.

Radio Continuum Emission at 21 cm near Stephan's Quintet
Nature, 1972AN area about one degree square centred at α = 22 h 33.80 m, δ = 33° 41.0′ (1950) near Stephan's Quintet of galaxies has been observed with the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope at 21.2 cm. The measurements consist of 12 h registrations at 40 interferometer spacings from 36 to 1,440 m in intervals of 36 m.

Radio Continuum Emission from Galaxies
1975The continuum radio emission detected from external galaxies is produced either by thermal process or by the synchrotron process with the latter dominating in most cases. For the synchrotron process the volume emissivity is given by $$ \varepsilon \left( \upsilon \right) = {\rm{n}}{\mkern 1mu} {{\rm{B}}^{\frac{{{\rm{1 + }}\gamma }}{2}}} {\upsilon ^{

Radio Continuum Emission from Sculptor Galaxies
Publications of the Astronomical Society of Australia, 1986AbstractThe five major members of the Sculptor Group of galaxies and NGC 45 have been observed with the Molonglo observatory synthesis telescope. NGC 247 and NGC 300 were not detected and upper limits to their 843 MHz flux densities are given. Radio emission from NGC 7793 is discussed with particular attention to its morphology, radial dependence ...

Radio Continuum and CO emission in spiral galaxies
2023We have studied the relationship between the Radio Continuum (RC) and CO emission for a set of galaxies selected from the BIMA SONG sample. By combining new 20 cm VLA B-array observations with BIMA maps it has been possible to investigate the behaviour of the RC/CO correlation at matched resolution down to an angular size of about 6''.
