Refraction correction for radio-echo sounding of large ice masses
This paper presents a simple mathematical formula for correcting radio-echo-sounding data from an ice sheet or glacier for the effects of varying refractive index. The method requires some knowledge of the variation of refractive index with depth.

The objective of this study was to investigate the radio echo sounding properties of Svalbard glaciers and to use these data to obtain information about the glaciological environment.
