The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Circuit-Level Modeling and Simulation of Wireless Sensing and Energy Harvesting With Hybrid Magnetoelectric Antennas for Implantable Neural Devices

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Circuits and Systems, 2023
A magnetoelectric antenna (ME) can exhibit the dual capabilities of wireless energy harvesting and sensing at different frequencies. In this article, a behavioral circuit model for hybrid ME antennas is described to emulate the radio frequency (RF ...

Interference-Assisted Wireless Energy Harvesting in Cognitive Relay Network with Multiple Primary Transceivers

open access: yes, 2015
We consider a spectrum sharing scenario, where a secondary network coexists with a primary network of multiple transceivers. The secondary network consists of an energy-constrained decode-and-forward secondary relay which assists the communication ...

Frequency selective surface for radio frequency energy harvesting applications

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation, 2014
A novel application for frequency selective surfaces (FSSs) is presented. The novel FSS design can harvest power from arbitrarily polarised incident waves. The design does not involve a matching network, which results in a simple, polarisation‐independent power harvester. An accurate analytical procedure, to calculate the impedance
