Coupled Chiral Optical Tamm States in Cholesteric Liquid Crystals
The modes formed by two coupled chiral optical Tamm states localized at the interfaces between a photonic cholesteric liquid crystal conjugated with polarization-preserving anisotropic mirrors have been analytically and numerically investigated.

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Fractals, scaling and fractional operators as a foundation of new methods of information processing and fractal radio systems designing [PDF]
Main results of theoretical and experimental investigations since eighties of XX that led to formation and developing of new fundamental science discipline: “Fractal Radio Physics and Fractal Radio Electronics: Fractal Radio Systems Designing” are ...

Deriving the normalised ion-neutral collision frequency from EISCAT observations [PDF]
Common programme observations by the EISCAT UHF radar revealed an extended interval, post geomagnetic local noon on 03 April 1992, during which the F-region ion velocity orthogonal to the geomagnetic field was significantly enhanced, to values ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.

Physical Aspects of Radio Telegraphy [PDF]
The development of radio telegraphy, as a mysterious and little understood physical art, from well known inductive and conductive methods of telegraphy is briefly stated. It is shown that radio telegraphy is now subject to engineering treatment and consists of a series of expected effects resulting from a series of controllable causes.

Engineering peptides into antibodies—opportunities and strategies for therapeutic innovation
Peptides and antibodies occupy complementary therapeutic niches. Peptides recognize difficult targets in a compact format, while antibodies add specificity, long half‐life, and effector functions. This review examines strategies that merge both modalities—peptide grafting into loops, terminal and Fc fusions, and bioconjugation—highlighting how ...
