Radio Wave Propagation

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2007
Electromagnetic radio waves traveling within earth’s atmosphere are called terrestrial waves, and communications between two or more points on earth is called terrestrial radio communications. Terrestrial waves are influenced by the atmosphere and earth itself.

Radio Propagation Fundamentals*

Bell System Technical Journal, 1957
The engineering of radio systems requires an estimate of the power loss between the transmitter and the receiver. Such estimates are affected by many factors, including reflections, fading, refraction in the atmosphere, and diffraction over the earth's surface.

Radio Propagation Studies

Physics Today, 1948
Special airborne measuring equipment, including four high-frequency radio transmitters installed in a PBY-5A aircraft, is being used by the atmospheric studies division of the U.S. Navy Electronics Laboratory, San Diego, California, in over-water studies of ultra-high-frequency radio waves.

Mobile Radio Propagation

2009
"This is an IEEE classic reissue of the book published by John Wiley & Sons in 1974.This definitive text and reference covers all aspects of microwave mobile systems design. Encompassing ten years of advanced research in the field, it reviews basic microwave theory, explains how cellular systems work and presents useful techniques for effective systems

Transequatorial Radio Propagation Monitoring

2005 5th International Conference on Information Communications & Signal Processing, 2006
According to error of satellite signals traveling through the ionosphere, it can be impractical and receiver performance can be severely degraded. At times of high sunspot number, transequatorial propagation on ionospheric scintillations is most likely to occur during solar maximum, particularly affecting equatorial and auroral regions.
